Braves' Mike Yastrzemski: Exiting lineup versus lefty
Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Braves' Mike Yastrzemski: Heading to bench Wednesday
Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
After taking a seat against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola on Sunday, the left-handed-hitting Yastrzemski will check out of the lineup against a lefty (Tarik Skubal) on Wednesday. Eli White will draw the start in left field in his stead, but Yastrzemski still projects to see the bulk of the playing time at the position.

Braves' Mike Yastrzemski: On bench Sunday
Yastrzemski is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
The veteran outfielder will typically sit versus left-handed starting pitchers, but his absence Sunday is his first of the year against a righty (Aaron Nola). Yastrzemski has yet to get on track at the plate this season with a .188/.266/.247 slash line in 94 plate appearances, and his 26.6 percent strikeout rate would be the worst of his eight-year MLB career.

Braves' Mike Yastrzemski: Struggles continue Sunday
Yastrzemski went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and three strikeouts in Sunday's win over the Guardians.
Six different Atlanta players recorded multiple hits in a 13-1 rout, but Yastrzemski instead led the team in a less helpful category, accounting for three of the five strikeouts by Cleveland pitchers on the night. The veteran slugger is still looking for his first homer of 2026, slashing .180/.293/.260 through 15 games with what would be a career-worst 27.6 percent strikeout rate, but for now his spot as the strong side of a platoon in left field doesn't appear to be in jeopardy.
