  Marte went 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's win over the Giants. Marte led the Diamondbacks offense to a monster night as the team scored 17 runs. This is the second baseman's first four-hit effort since Sept. 19, 2023, which also came against San Francisco. Marte has been scorching hot to start the season, slashing .345/.392/.598 with five home runs, 12 RBI and 21 runs scored over 97 plate appearances.

Marte led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run, jumping on the first pitch he saw from Jordan Wicks to give the Diamondbacks an early 1-0 lead. He then doubled in his next at-bat to lead off the third and singled home a run in the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. The second baseman continues to swing a hot bat and has now recorded at least three hits in back-to-back contests, raising his batting average to .325 in the process. Marte has also homered in two straight games, giving him five long balls in the early campaign.

  Marte went 2-for-4 with a leadoff home run and an RBI double in Saturday's 9-8 loss to Atlanta. Both hits actually came in the first inning. Marte led off the top of the first with a mammoth 461-foot blast off of Max Fried and later concluded the scoring in a six-run frame by doubling in a run off the lefty. He also drew a walk. It's the second straight game with a leadoff home run for Marte and his third straight contest with a long ball. He's reached base 18 times in his first nine games.

Marte sent the fourth pitch of the game -- a hanging slider from Spencer Strider -- over the right-center field wall. It was the second consecutive game with a home run for Marte, who continued a hot start to the season. He's slashing .353/.385/.588 with four extra-base hits, five RBI and 10 runs scored over eight games.

Marte popped his first home run of the season in the fifth inning, knotting the game 2-2 and setting up the extra frames. He eventually moved to shortstop for the 11th inning after Geraldo Perdomo (knee) was removed. Marte came up through the system as a shortstop, which is where he played early in his career, but has since evolved into a second baseman following a brief stint in center field. If Perdomo misses game action, the Diamondbacks are expected to cover his absence with a combination of Blaze Alexander and Jace Peterson.
