The Kansas City Royals recalled five players on Sunday, including top pitching prospect Jake Odorizzi.

Odorizzi, who ranked 29th on Baseball America's midseason top-50 prospect list, is 15-5 in 26 games (25 starts) between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha this season with a 3.03 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 135 strikeouts in 145 1/3 innings.

By adding Odorizzi to their 40-man roster, the Royals have made him ineligible for the upcoming Rule 5 draft.

The Royals also recalled pitchers Nate Adcock and Tommy Hottovy, infielder Irving Falu and catcher Adam Moore.
