The Diamondbacks are open to trading left fielder Jason Kubel this offseason, according to The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro.
The team will decide whether it would be better with Kubel's power or the defense of Gerardo Parra in left field, and the answer may be determined by which players are tabbed to play shortstop and third base.
Kubel would likely draw interest from multiple teams on the trade market after hitting .253/.327/.506 with a career-high 30 home runs in 571 plate appearances. The 30-year-old is owed $7.5 million in 2013 and has a $7.5 million mutual option for 2014 with a $1 million buyout.
Parra hit .273/.335/.392 with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in 430 plate appearances in 2012. He won the Gold Glove award for his work as the club's regular left fielder in 2011 and is five years younger than Kubel.
