White Sox" data-canon="Chicago White Sox" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" id="shortcode0"> first baseman Paul Konerko hit his 400th career home run on Wednesday, blasting Grant Balfour's first pitch of the ninth inning into left field to tie Chicago's game with Oakland at 2.

It was also the 2,000th career hit in a White Sox uniform for Konerko, while it was the 393rd homer of his White Sox career. He hit four homers with the Dodgers and three with the Reds before joining the White Sox in 1999.

Konerko is ninth among active players in home runs (behind Andruw Jones, who also hit No. 400 while playing for the White Sox), and the 48th member of the 400 home run club. Next on the list is Duke Snider with 407.

It was the first blown save of the season for Balfour, the A's closer.
