News and notes: Alejandro De Aza, Miguel Socolovich, Ivan De Jesus

The White Sox activate Alejandro De Aza, the Cubs recall Miguel Socolovich and the Red Sox recall Ivan De Jesus.

News and notes from Sunday:

• The White Sox have activated outfielder Alejandro De Aza from the disabled list, the club announced. The 28-year-old has been out of action since August 18 with bruised ribs. De Aza is in his first season as a full-time player, hitting .281/.346/.398 (100 OPS+) in 111 games. His previous career high in games played was 54, coming last season with the White Sox.

• The Cubs recalled pitcher Miguel Socolovich, the club announced. Socolovich was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on Aug. 23 after allowing eight runs in 10.1 innings with the Orioles. Between the Triple-A affiliates of Chicago and Baltimore this season, Socolovich owns a 2.11 ERA in 55.1 innings, including a 4.07 K/BB.

• The Red Sox have recalled utility player Ivan De Jesus Jr., the club announced via Twitter. De Jesus, acquired in the Adrian Gonzalez megadeal in August, went 9-for-33 in 23 games with the Dodgers this season. The 25-year-old hit .304/.343/.416 at the Triple-A level in 67 games between Albuquerque (Dodgers affiliate) and Pawtucket (Red Sox affiliate).
