For the third time in a week, Reynolds homers twice vs. Yankees

Mark Reynolds hit two more home runs against the Yankees on Thursday night, the third time he's done it in just seven days. He became just the second player ever with three multi-homer games against the Yankees in one season. The other was Hank Greenberg, in 1938.

BALTIMORE -- Boog Powell had four multi-homer games against the Yankees.

Mark Reynolds has three . . . in the last seven days.

Reynolds did it again Thursday night at Camden Yards, just as he did last Friday and Sunday at Yankee Stadium. He homered in the sixth inning off Joba Chamberlain, and again in the eighth off David Robertson, helping the Orioles to a 10-6 win over the Yankees.

His eighth-inning homer came just after Adam Jones had put the Orioles back ahead in the game. The Yankees had rallied from a 6-1 deficit to tie it at 6-6 in the top of the eighth.

Before Reynolds, the only player with three multi-homer games against the Yankees in a season was Hank Greenberg of the Tigers, who did it in 1938. But Greenberg's multi-homer games were separated by four months.

Reynolds did it in a week.

"It just happens," said Reynolds, who until last week had just 12 home runs in 103 games. "I don't know what I'm doing different now than I was early in the season."
