Rays third baseman Evan Longoria will likely miss six-to-eight weeks with a partially torn hamstring, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports. He's been placed on the 15-day DL and replaced on the active roster by infielder Will Rhymes.

A best-case outlook has Longoria resuming activities in four weeks and returning to the active roster in six. The 26-year-old is hitting .329/.433/.561 on the young season. "I think it sucks," Longoria said of his injury.

Longoria injured himself in Monday's 12-inning game against the Mariners. He left the game after a failed stolen base attempt to end the third inning. It's the third time in Longoria's career that he's been placed on the disabled list.
