The Braves may try to re-sign Michael Bourn, and Ben Sheets is close to making his debut, tweets MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

  • Bowman said that Ben Sheets could make his Braves debut next Sunday against the Mets. Sheets has made one start for the Double-A Mississippi Braves, allowing four runs in five innings. He did manage to strike out six batters.
  • Sheets would likely take Randall Delgado's spot in the rotation once he is promoted.
  • Bowman also notes that he thinks the Braves will attempt to re-sign Michael Bourn, but it's not going to happen during the season. Bourn has hit .307/.360/.452 this season, while playing exceptional defense in center field. He's slated to be a free-agent at the end of the year and could receive a hefty contract on the market.
