The Atlanta Braves have claimed outfielder Jordan Schafer off waivers from the Houston Astros.

Schafer was selected by the Braves in the third round of the 2005 amateur draft and hit .223/.310/.303 with three home runs and 17 stolen bases in 415 plate appearances with the big-league club.

He was dealt to the Astros at the 2011 trade deadline along with three other players in the trade that brought outfielder Michael Bourn to the Braves.

Schafer hit .220/.301/.298 with five home runs and 34 stolen bases in 478 plate appearances with the Astros.
