Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-0 win over Colorado. Tatis led off the Padres' half of the first inning with a 424-foot blast to center field. He struck out in his remaining three at-bats, but the long ball was a good sign that the shoulder injury that forced the star outfielder to sit out Wednesday isn't a serious concern. Tatis has homered in both games since that missed contest and is up to four long balls and nine RBI on the campaign.... See More ... See Less

Padres' Fernando Tatis: Goes yard in return
Tatis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Friday against Colorado. After sitting out Wednesday's game against the Athletics with a sore left shoulder, Tatis launched a 411-foot homer off Rockies right-hander Angel Chivilli in the sixth inning Friday to extend San Diego's lead to 7-0. The star outfielder is off to a sizzling start at the dish in 2025, slashing .375/.446/.583 with three big flies and eight RBI through 56 plate appearances to go with 12 runs scored and six stolen bases over 13 outings.... Padres' Fernando Tatis: Leading off Friday
Tatis (shoulder) will start in right field and bat leadoff Friday against the Rockies, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. A sore left shoulder forced Tatis to make an early exit from Tuesday's game, and he was left out of the starting nine Wednesday as well. After getting another day to rest Thursday thanks to a scheduled off day, the 26-year-old now seems to be feeling better. He'll aim to continue what's been a great start to the season, as he owns a .364/.442/.523 slash line with two homers, seven RBI, 10 runs scored and five stolen bases through 12 games.... Padres' Fernando Tatis: Sitting out Wednesday
Tatis (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics. Tatis exited prior to the bottom of the fifth inning of Tuesday's 10-4 loss due to discomfort in his left shoulder -- the same one he had surgically repaired late in the 2022 season. Per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, Tatis said after the game that he doesn't believe the injury is anything that will linger or force him to the injured list, but he'll get at least one game off. The Padres have an off day Thursday, giving Tatis some added time to heal before the team opens a three-game series with the Rockies on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Exits early Tuesday
Tatis was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics due to an apparent injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. The Padres haven't provided any details regarding what kind of injury Tatis is dealing with, but more information will come once they get a chance to evaluate him. The 26-year-old had gone 0-for-2 with a walk prior to his removal in the fifth inning.... See More ... See Less -

Tatis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-4 win over the Athletics. Tatis gave the Padres an insurance run in the seventh inning with a 406-foot blast to left field. The long ball was Tatis' first since his second game of the campaign, but he did plenty of damage on offense in the interim. Padres' Fernando Tatis: Continues red-hot start to season
Tatis went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base in a 5-0 win against Atlanta on Sunday. Tatis extended his campaign-opening hitting streak to four games Sunday, and he's collected multiple knocks in two of those contests. The star outfielder also stole his third bag of the season, which is tied for second in the majors in the early going. Tatis had a bit of a down year last season with 21 homers and 11 thefts over 102 regular-season games, but he's capable of putting up MVP-level numbers and is off to a fast start to begin 2025.... Padres' Fernando Tatis: Swats first homer of season
Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over Atlanta. He led off the game by driving the first pitch he saw from Reynaldo Lopez over the fence in left-center field. Tatis is looking to bounce back from a somewhat disappointing 2024 campaign that saw him hit 21 homers and steal just 11 bags over 102 regular-season contests. If he can stay healthy, the 26-year-old has the talent to take a run at a 30-30 season.... See More ... See Less -

Tatis went 1-for-2 with a solo home run against Cincinnati in a Cactus League loss Monday. Tatis put the Padres on the board in the fourth inning with a 404-foot shot to center field. The star outfielder got a late start to Cactus League action after coming down with the flu in late February, but he's since been able to get into six games. Tatis is slashing .273/.385/.545 in those contests.... See More ... See Less -

Tatis (illness) was back at Padres camp Wednesday and is expected to take part in a light workout, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. Though Tatis' return to camp is an encouraging sign, manager Mike Shildt said that the star outfielder will likely need a little time to ramp back up after a bout with the flu kept him off the field for a few days. Expect Tatis to gradually intensify his workouts as the week rolls along before potentially making his Cactus League debut this weekend or early next week.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Remains out with illness
Tatis remains sidelined with an illness and it's uncertain when he might be ready to make his Cactus League debut, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. It's not clear what kind of illness Tatis is dealing with, but Padres manager Mike Shildt said of the outfielder on Monday that "he's going to require a little bit more recovery." While not an ideal start to camp, Tatis shouldn't be in any danger of missing Opening Day.... See More ... See Less -

Kevin Acee@sdutKevinAcee7H agoPadres recall Connor Joe. Brandon Lockridge has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. They went with the experienced pro in Joe. This is going to lead to some sort of interesting outfield alignment against LHP.
