The Mariners and Urias avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $5 million contract Thursday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.

It was his second year of arbitration eligibility. Urias reportedly had been set to be non-tendered by the Red Sox, but the Mariners traded for him, and he's now in line to open the 2024 season as their starting third baseman.
