Wada was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Sunday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Wada didn't make the postseason roster, and the veteran wasn't particularly good this season, so he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster in favor Taylor Teagarden.
