Joshua Cephus: Free agent after non-tender
The Jaguars did not tender Cephus (undisclosed) on Wednesday.
As such, Cephus now will be an unrestricted free agent. He did not appear in a regular-season game in 2025 due to an undisclosed injury that caused him to be placed on IR in late August. Cephus will look to join a team in need of wide receiver depth.

Jaguars' Joshua Cephus: Reverts to IR
Cephus (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Jaguars on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cephus suffered an undisclosed injury during training camp with Jacksonville, which is now set to sideline him for the 2025 campaign. He'd be eligible to sign elsewhere and play this season if he were to reach an injury settlement with the Jaguars; otherwise, he'll shift his focus to 2026.

Joshua Cephus: Let go by Jaguars
The Jaguars waived Cephus (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Wednesday.
Cephus had signed a reserve/future contract with Jacksonville after he spent last season on its practice squad but he was unable to stand out in training camp. He will now look to get healthy and catch on with another team.

Jaguars' Joshua Cephus: Signs futures deal with Jags
Jacksonville signed Cephus to a reserve/futures contract Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
In his only appearance in the 2024 regular season, Cephus played just six offensive snaps and did not draw a target. However, rookie first-rounder Brian Thomas was the only Jaguars wide receiver to log more than 400 receiving yards during the most recent campaign, so the room may have some openings heading into the 2025 league year.

Joshua Cephus: Makes way back to practice squad
Cephus reverted to Jacksonville's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Cephus was elevated for the first time this season for Sunday's matchup against Tennessee and logged six offensive snaps without getting any targets or touches. The 23-year-old could be elevated twice more this season before the Jaguars would need to sign him to their active roster in order to have him available for game day.

Jaguars' Joshua Cephus: Elevated for Week 14
The Jaguars elevated Cephus from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Cephus was unable to make the Jags' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he opted to stick around on the practice squad. The 23-year-old wideout is in line to make his NFL regular-season debut Sunday against the Titans if he's active for the game.

Joshua Cephus: Back with Jacksonville
The Jaguars signed Cephus to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
The Jaguars left Cephus off their initial 53-man roster after he signed with the team in April as an undrafted free agent, but he's now set to join the practice squad. During Cephus' final season at UTSA, the 23-year-old racked up 89 receptions for 1,151 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, earning first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors.

Joshua Cephus: Gets let go
Cephus was waived by the Jaguars on Tuesday.
Cephus joined Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent after a successful and record-breaking senior season at UTSA, which saw him earn All-American Athletic Conference honors. The 23-year-old could be a practice squad candidate if he doesn't find any opportunities elsewhere.

Joshua Cephus: Slated to head to Jacksonville
Cephus is in line to sign with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cephus, who spent five years with UTSA, is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he recorded a school-record 1,151 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns on 89 catches in 13 games en route to earning first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors, per Greg Luca of the San Antonio Express-News. With Jacksonville, the 6-foot-2, 189-pounder has plenty of competition for a roster spot, but Cephus could potentially land a depth role or practice squad slot with a strong training camp/offseason.
