Game Recap
The Florida Atlantic Owls won their last matchup against the UTEP Miners, and it was the same story this time around. Florida Atlantic came out on top in a nail-biter against UTEP on Saturday, sneaking past 28-25. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Miners made it more of a game than the oddsmakers had predicted.
Florida Atlantic's RB Johnny Ford did his thing and punched in one rushing touchdown.
Despite the defeat, UTEP got a solid performance out of WR Tyrin Smith, who caught four passes for one TD and 114 yards.
The win improved Florida Atlantic's record to 5-3. The loss dropped UTEP's record to 6-2.
The Owls have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Marshall Thundering Herd at 6 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at FAU Stadium. Marshall is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 38 to nothing victory over the FIU Panthers on Saturday. UTEP will be playing at home against the UTSA Roadrunners at 10:15 p.m. ET next Saturday. UTSA has averaged 47.33 points over the course of their past three games, so UTEP might be in for a challenge.
