ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Blue Cain scored 18 points and Georgia built a big first-half lead to beat Alabama A&M 93-73 on Saturday for its eighth straight win.

Cain scored eight points to help Georgia take a 46-24 lead at the break despite shooting 39.5% (15 of 38) overall. Justin Hill, Jabri Abdur-Rahim and RJ Sunahara each added seven first-half points for Georgia (10-3).

Georgia shot 61% from the floor in the second half and finished 51% (34 of 67), scoring 24 points off 22 Alabama A&M turnovers.

Cain was 7 of 9 from the floor overall and 3 of 5 from long range. RJ Melendez added 11 points, and Hill and Silas Demary Jr. had 10 apiece. Abdur-Rahim and Sunahara each played eight minutes and didn't score in the second half.

Dailin Smith and reserve Chad Moodie each scored nine of their 14 points in the second half to lead Alabama A&M (1-12), which outscored Georgia 49-47 after halftime.

Georgia, which is 9-0 at home, plays at Missouri on Saturday in a Southeastern Conference opener.

Alabama A&M, which has lost seven in a row, opens its Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday.
