Jonsson-Fjallby was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Saturday. Jonsson-Fjallby had two goals and five points in 26 games with the Jets this year. The 26-year-old winger will likely serve as a depth option for Winnipeg going forward in the postseason.... See More ... See Less

Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Placed on waivers
Jonsson-Fjallby was placed on waivers Tuesday. Jonsson-Fjallby has provided solid bottom-six minutes in limited action for Winnipeg this season, recording two goals and three assists to go along with 28 hits and seven blocked shots in 26 appearances. The 25-year-old will likely be assigned to AHL Manitoba if he passes through waivers unclaimed.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Playing Thursday
Jonsson-Fjallby (illness) is expected to play Thursday versus the Blackhawks, Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Jonsson-Fjallby was able to take lines rushes after being labeled a game-time decision earlier Thursday. He should remain in his usual fourth-line role.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Under the weather
Jonsson-Fjallby is dealing with an illness and will be a game-time call against Chicago on Thursday, Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reports. If he's unable to play, Jonsson-Fjallby will likely be replaced in the lineup by defenseman Logan Stanley. The 25-year-old Jonsson-Fjallby is currently stuck in a six-game pointless streak during which he has registered just six shots. Even once cleared to play, Jonsson-Fjallby figures to offer low-end fantasy value given his limited offensive upside.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Supplies helper
Jonsson-Fjallby recorded an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Blackhawks. Jonsson-Fjallby has three points over his last three games. The 25-year-old forward has carved out consistent playing time on the fourth line lately, playing in six straight contests after sitting out three of the Jets' first five games in December. Overall, he has four points, 13 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-2 rating through 15 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: First goal of season a game-winner
Jonsson-Fjallby scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 victory over the Red Wings. The tally was his first in 13 games this season -- he came into Wednesday's game with only one assist -- but Jonsson-Fjallby looked like a born sniper when he converted a breakaway by beating James Reimer glove side in the second period. The 25-year-old has flashed some offensive upside in the minors, scoring 22 goals and 43 points in his last 58 AHL games stretching back to 2021-22, but his spot on the fourth line for Winnipeg gives him few opportunities to display his skill at the NHL level.... Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Called up Wednesday
Jonsson-Fjallby was called up from AHL Manitoba on Wednesday. Rasmus Kupari (shoulder) went on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Jonsson-Fjallby's first game will be his NHL season debut. He collected 14 points over 50 games for the Jets last year, playing most often in a fourth-line role that he'll likely occupy if he gets into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Staying with Winnipeg
Jonsson-Fjallby agreed to a two-year, $1.55 million contract with Winnipeg on Monday. The deal is a two-way contract in 2023-24 before becoming a one-way pact in 2024-25. Jonsson-Fjallby contributed six goals, 14 points, 54 shots on net and 43 hits in 50 games last season. He also posted three goals and one assist in four AHL outings for Manitoba. The 25-year-old forward will attempt to claim a fourth-line spot with the Jets in the fall out of training camp.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Scores in finale
Jonsson-Fjallby scored a goal on his lone shot in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche. With Winnipeg resting many of their starters, Jonsson-Fjallby got into his first NHL game since March 4. The 25-year-old winger made the most of the opportunity, tying the game 1-1 in the second period with his sixth goal of the season. Jonsson-Fjallby finishes the year with 14 points in 50 games. He'll likely be a healthy scratch more often than not in the postseason, providing injury insurance for the Jets.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Two points against Oilers
Jonsson-Fjallby scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 6-3 loss to Edmonton. Both points came in the third period after the Jets had fallen behind 5-0 and had little to lose by giving the fourth line more ice time. Jonsson-Fjallby had just two points over his previous 11 games, so a repeat performance isn't likely to come any time soon. On the season, the 25-year-old forward has five goals and 13 points through 48 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Temporarily sent down
Jonsson-Fjallby was assigned to AHL Manitoba on Friday prior to being recalled, Murat Ares of The Athletic reports. The paper move makes Jonsson-Fjallby eligible for the AHL playoffs. He is projected to play for Winnipeg on Friday against Edmonton. In 47 NHL games this season, he has 11 points, 51 shots on net and 40 hits.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Ascends to top level
Jonsson-Fjallby was recalled from AHL Manitoba on an emergency basis Thursday. Jonsson-Fjallby was sent down Monday but Manitoba did not play in the three days he was with the team. Jonsson-Fjallby has four goals and 11 points in 47 games with the Jets this season.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Sent down
Jonsson-Fjallby was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Monday. Jonsson-Fjallby has accounted for four goals, 11 points, 51 shots on net and 40 hits in 47 appearances with Winnipeg this season. The Jets may have recent addition Nino Niederreiter available for Tuesday's contest versus Los Angeles.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Brought up Sunday
Jonsson-Fjallby was recalled by Winnipeg on Sunday. Newly acquired winger Nino Niederreiter was designated to non-roster status in a corresponding move, indicating that it's a temporary move for Jonsson-Fjallby. The 25-year-old forward could play a bottom-six role Sunday, but he'll likely return to AHL Manitoba when Niederreiter joins the team. Jonsson-Fjallby has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 46 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Sent down Saturday
Jonsson-Fjallby was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Saturday. Jonsson-Fjallby cleared waivers Feb. 14, so he was an easy choice for the Jets to send down after they acquired Nino Niederreiter in a trade with the Predators. If the Jets continue to add to their roster ahead of Friday's trade deadline, Jonsson-Fjallby would likely have a tough time getting back to the NHL this season.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Summoned by parent club
Jonsson-Fjallby was recalled by the Jets on Tuesday. Cole Perfetti (upper body) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move Tuesday, so Jonsson-Fjallby could be in for an extended stay with the big club. Jonsson-Fjallby's picked up 11 points through 45 top-level appearances this year.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Scores fourth goal of 2022-23
Jonsson-Fjallby provided a goal in the Jets' 5-3 victory over the Flyers on Sunday. Jonsson-Fjallby opened the scoring at 4:53 of the first period. He's up to four goals and 11 points in 43 contests in 2022-23. Jonsson-Fjallby was held off the scoresheet for five consecutive games from Jan. 12-19, but he's heated up with a point in each of his last two games.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Headache for Canucks in win
Jonsson-Fjallby registered a goal and an assist in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Canucks. The Jets utilize Jonsson-Fjallby in a fourth-line role and he's naturally seeing time on the penalty kill, but the Swede has teased offensive potential as well. AJF has three goals and five assists through 35 games and 10:52 of average ice time. While he's not on the radar in most fantasy leagues, it will be exciting to see what he can do with more experience and ice time.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Gets on scoresheet Friday
Jonsson-Fjallby notched an assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over the Stars. Jonsson-Fjallby entered the contest on an 11-game point drought. He snapped it by setting up Adam Lowry's go-ahead goal in the second period. While Jonsson-Fjallby has been a regular presence in a bottom-six role, his one goal and one assist through 17 contests won't make him an option in fantasy. He's added 20 shots on net, four PIM and 17 hits.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Deposits game-winner Thursday
Jonsson-Fjallby scored a goal, logged two hits and added two PIM in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Kings. Jonsson-Fjallby got his first goal and point as a Jet at 14:23 of the third period. It stood as the game-winner, giving the Jets consecutive wins for the first time this year. The 24-year-old has added seven shots on net, five hits, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in five contests, but he's been limited to fourth-line usage. Barring injuries, he's unlikely to work his way into a top-six gig.... See More ... See Less
