Gushchin scored a goal in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Oilers. Gushchin has a goal and an assist over three NHL appearances this season. The 22-year-old winger has added five blocked shots and four shots on net over that stretch. He posted 54 points over 56 contests with AHL San Jose prior to his call-up. Gushchin has been given plenty of time to develop in the AHL, so he should have a chance at an NHL job out of training camp in the fall.... See More ... See Less

Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Dropped back to minors
Gushchin was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Friday, Max Miller of The Hockey News reports. Gushchin's demotion to the minors is expected to be temporary considering the team doesn't play again until Monday's clash with Vancouver. In his two outings this season, the 21-year-old winger has notched one assist, three shots and five blocks. If he does get recalled before the trip to Vancouver, Gushchin should be in line for a top-six role and a spot on the power play.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Earns helper in season debut
Gushchin posted an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Panthers. Gushchin set up Luke Kunin's go-ahead goal in the third period, though the Sharks failed to hold the lead. This was Gushchin's first NHL contest of the campaign, an achievement he earned after posting 13 points in 11 games with AHL San Jose. The 21-year-old will likely get a chance to audition for a long-term stay with the big club, and he's off to a good start.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Elevated from minors
Gushchin was recalled from AHL San Jose on Monday. Gushchin has been lighting it up with the Barracuda this season, putting up four goals and nine assists in 11 minor-league games. The 2020 third-round pick has yet to get into an NHL game this season but could be in line to make his 2023-24 debut against the Panthers on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Headed back to minors
Gushchin was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Wednesday. Gushchin has found success in his first two NHL games, tallying one goal, one assist and eight shots while averaging 15:55 of ice time. Unless Jeffrey Viel (upper body) or Oskar Lindblom (upper body) is ready to play against the Avalanche on Thursday, Gushchin could be brought back up from the minors and suit up in the contest.... Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Nabs assist Tuesday
Gushchin posted an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche. Gushchin has two points, eight shots on net and five blocks through his first two NHL outings. With Tomas Hertl (undisclosed) leaving Tuesday's game, Gushchin may be able to stick around on the big club's roster a bit longer. The third-round pick from 2020 is making a strong impression while seeing top-six minutes in his late-season audition.... See More ... See Less -
Sharks' Danil Gushchin: Summoned by big club
Gushchin was promoted from AHL San Jose on Saturday. The Sharks are dealing with a bunch of injuries up front, so Gushchin could potentially make his NHL debut Saturday versus the Coyotes.
