The Cardinals recalled Pages from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.
Pages will make his first major-league start Wednesday versus the Mets, serving as the Cardinals' catcher while batting eighth. He will serve primarily as Ivan Herrera's backup over the next several weeks after Willson Contreras (forearm) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Pages will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
With Willson Contreras (forearm) set to miss the next couple of months, Pages will come up from the minors to serve as the backup catcher to Ivan Herrera. Pages has played in just six games at Triple-A this season, going 4-for-18 with a homer and two RBI, and he'll likely only draw an occasional start while with the Cardinals.

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Headed back to Triple-A
Pages will be optioned to Triple-A Memphis prior to Sunday's game against the White Sox, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
He was up as a third catcher for a bit but will clear out to make room for Dylan Carlson's (shoulder) return from the injured list. Pages is 0-for-2 in four plate appearances with the big club, although he did have a go-ahead sac fly in the ninth inning of a comeback win over the Tigers earlier this week.

The Cardinals recalled Pages from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.
Pages was called up by St. Louis earlier in the season to provide depth at catcher with Willson Contreras battling a hand injury. Katie Woo of The Athletic notes that recalling Pages will allow the Cardinals to play both Contreras and Ivan Herrera at catcher and DH regularly. To make room for Pages, the Cardinals optioned outfielder Victor Scott to Triple-A Memphis.

With Willson Contreras (hand) unavailable for Thursday's home opener versus Miami, Pages will come up from the minors to give the Cardinals depth at catcher behind Ivan Herrera. Pages slashed .240/.367/.440 across 30 plate appearances during spring training and will be making his MLB debut once he gets into a game. Pages slashed .240/.367/.440 across 30 plate appearances this spring, but he will have to keep waiting for his call up to the majors with Willson Contreras and Ivan Herrera already in the Cards' catcher room. The 25-year-old Pages will be returning to Memphis for the first time since 2022, when he turned in a .640 OPS and 17 RBI across 172 plate appearances.

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Grabs spot on 40-man
The Cardinals selected Pages to their 40-man roster Tuesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The 25-year-old catcher delivered a solid .806 OPS with 16 home runs and 72 RBI over 117 games this past season at Double-A Springfield. With a 40-man roster spot, Pages is now protected from being selected in next month's Rule 5 Draft.
