Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: Sent to 10-day IL
The Red Sox placed Abreu on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right ankle sprain, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe, Abreu is hoping to return in the minimum 10 days after he sprained his ankle in the Red Sox's dugout during Sunday's game against the Tigers. Bobby Dalbec drew the start in Abreu's usual spot in right field Tuesday, but one of Rob Refsnyder and Tyler O'Neill (knee) should serve as the primary option at the position once O'Neill returns from the IL later this week.

Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: IL stint imminent
Manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Abreu (ankle) will be placed on the injured list, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Abreu twisted his right ankle in the dugout during Sunday's game and the injury seems to be severe enough to warrant a significant absence, although exactly how long Abreu will be out remains to be seen. Tyler O'Neill (knee) could return Wednesday to take Abreu's place on the roster and in the outfield.

Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: Nursing ankle issue
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Abreu twisted his right ankle in the dugout during Sunday's loss to the Tigers and is receiving treatment, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 with a run scored before he suffered the injury and was replaced by a pinch hitter during the ninth inning. Abreu will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before the start of a two-game series versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

Abreu went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Brewers.
Abreu, who scored on a sacrifice fly following his fourth-inning triple, is in a productive stretch. The outfielder is 10-for-25 with five extra-base hits, a stolen base, six RBI and four runs scored over the last seven contests. He's thriving against right-handed pitching this season, posting a .926 OPS against them.
