  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Earns win in extras

Rodriguez (1-0) picked up Saturday's win in extra innings over the Angels. He walked one and struck out one over two scoreless innings. The Rangers received seven innings of one-run ball out of the bullpen, including the final two from Rodriguez. The right-hander has put together six scoreless frames over his last two outings.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Provides needed innings

Rodriguez threw four scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Guardians. Starter Jack Leiter was bounced after 1.2 innings, and Texas needed its 29th-ranked bullpen (5.14 ERA) to get through the day. And they got it from Jonathan Hernandez (2.1 scoreless innings) and Rodriguez, who faced the minimum over four innings -- he hit a batter but followed it with a double play.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Sent back to minors

Rodriguez was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock by the Rangers on Monday. The move comes one day after Rodriguez was knocked around for three runs while recording just one out in an appearance versus the Astros. He'll be replaced on the roster by Michael Lorenzen (neck), who will come off the injured list to start Monday in Detroit.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Throws two scoreless

Rodriguez allowed one hit and two walks (one intentional) while striking out two over two scoreless innings in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Cubs. Rodriguez breezed through the seventh inning before working out of a bases-loaded, two-out jam. The right-hander has legitimate heat with a fastball that averaged 97.5 mph and topped out at 98.5. Rodriguez, who had command issues (4.0 BB/9) in 13 games for the Rangers in 2023, showed improvement in that area during spring training. The 26-year-old could be a weapon in the bullpen if he can locate his pitches with consistency.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Claims bullpen spot

General manager Chris Young said Wednesday that Rodriguez will be included in the Rangers' Opening Day bullpen, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. Rodriguez, 26, has made 14 career appearances at the big-league level, pitching to a 7.36 ERA and 1.84 WHIP over 14.2 innings. He'll likely be ticketed for lower-leverage work out of the Texas bullpen.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Summoned to majors

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday. The 25-year-old is taking Grant Anderson's spot in the Rangers' bullpen. Rodriguez has put up a 3.12 ERA and 6:3 K:BB over 8.2 frames with Texas this season and figures to occupy a low-leverage relief role.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Sent back to Round Rock

Rodriguez was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. Rodriguez will head back to Triple-A after being called up Saturday. With Glenn Otto (lat) returning to the major-league roster Friday, Rodriguez was the one booted from the Rangers' bullpen.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rangers recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. With Jose Leclerc (ankle) headed for the 15-day injured list Saturday, Rodriguez will join the major-league squad and provide extra depth to the Rangers' bullpen. The 25-year-old reliever has made six MLB appearances this season, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts through 5.1 innings.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Optioned to Triple-A

Texas optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez has allowed two earned runs in 5.1 innings of work this season out of the Rangers' bullpen. The 25-year-old right-hander should get another shot soon enough.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Recalled by Rangers

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday. Rodriguez made four relief appearances for the Rangers earlier in the year but didn't do much of note, allowing two runs on four hits across four innings while striking out one batter and walking two. His 4.91 ERA and 16.9 percent walk rate in 15 outings for Round Rock suggest he'll be limited to low-leverage duty in the majors. Spencer Howard was demoted in a corresponding move.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Rejoins major-league club

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday. Rodriguez was sent to the minors in mid-August but will rejoin the big-league club for the final few games of the regular season. The right-hander hasn't yet made his major-league debut but will likely be available as a multi-inning reliever during the Rangers' three-game series against the Yankees.

  • Rangers' Yerry Rodriguez: Added to 40-man roster

Rodriguez's contract was purchased by the Rangers on Friday. At his best, Rodriguez can look like one of the top pitching prospects in this system, but he has also been slowed by injuries, most notably a sprained UCL in July of 2019. The 23-year-old righty is supposedly healthy and will likely open the 2021 season at High-A or Double-A.
