Mariners' Luke Barker: Gets minors deal from Seattle
Barker signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Monday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
Barker missed all of the 2023 season following Tommy John surgery, but he's healthy now and will join the Triple-A Tacoma bullpen. The 32-year-old got into three games with the Brewers in 2023, allowing five runs in four innings. Barker holds a career 2.32 ERA and 30.4 percent strikeout rate during his time at the Triple-A level.

Luke Barker: Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Barker (elbow) announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he underwent Tommy John surgery. He was also released by the Brewers on Wednesday.
Given the year-plus recovery timeline typically associated with Tommy John surgeries, Barker looks on track to miss the remainder of the current campaign and the entirety of the 2023 season. Shortly after learning that he'd suffered a torn UCL in his right elbow that would need to be surgically repaired, the Brewers moved him off their 40-man roster and then cut him to clear room for trade-deadline pickup Trevor Rosenthal (hamstring). The 30-year-old Barker made his big-league debut earlier this season, making three relief appearances and allowing five earned runs over four innings.

Brewers' Luke Barker: Designated for assignment
Barker (elbow) was designated for assignment Tuesday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
The move clears space for the Brewers to add Trevor Rosenthal (hamstring) to the 40-man roster after he was acquired in a deadline-day deal with the Giants. Barker hasn't pitched in over a month due to a UCL sprain, and it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to the hill.

Brewers' Luke Barker: Dealing with sprained UCL
Barker has been diagnosed with a sprained UCL in his right elbow, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Barker made his MLB debut in June and has been performing relatively well at Triple-A Nashville this year, posting a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 25 innings over 23 appearances with the minor-league affiliate. However, he's now dealing with an injury in his throwing elbow and is weighing his treatment options. It's not yet clear whether the issue will require surgery or whether he'll be able to return prior to the end of the regular season.

Brewers' Luke Barker: Back to minors
Barker was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Barker made three appearances for the Brewers after being called up in early June, but he allowed five earned runs over his last two, so he will head back to Nashville for the time being. Peter Strzelecki was brought up to take Barker's place in the Brewers' bullpen.
