  • Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Hamstring strain 'very mild'

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Marsh, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday is dealing with a "very mild" right hamstring strain, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Marsh strained the hamstring late in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. While the Phillies aren't putting an official timeline on Marsh's return from the IL, he appears to have a shot to make it back when he's first eligible June 13, or close to it. David Dahl was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move and will start in left field in Marsh's place in Monday's game against the Brewers.

  • Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Goes on IL with hamstring strain

The Phillies placed Marsh on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right hamstring strain.

Marsh was lifted in the eighth inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals with a right hamstring strain, and though the severity of the injury isn't fully known, the Phillies quickly ascertained that the outfielder was dealing with more than a day-to-day concern. Philadelphia called up David Dahl and Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to give the club two additional healthy options in the outfield in the interim, and Whit Merrifield or Cristian Pache could also be in line to pick up more reps in left field while Marsh is on the shelf. Pache and Merrifield had already been seeing starts in left field this season as short-side platoon mates for the lefty-hitting Marsh.

  • Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Exits early with hamstring injury

Marsh was removed in the bottom of the eighth inning of Sunday's contest against the Cardinals due to a right hamstring strain, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored prior to exiting the game.

Marsh recorded a single off reliever Andrew Kittredge to open the bottom of the eighth, but he left the game after advancing to second base on a hit by Nick Castellanos. The outfielder will likely undergo additional testing on his leg, and a trip to the injured list could be on the table.
