Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Hitting bench Wednesday
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
After playing the final three innings of Tuesday's suspended game earlier Wednesday and finishing 1-for-3 in Baltimore's 3-1 loss, Mountcastle will get a breather for the regularly scheduled game. Ryan O'Hearn will step in for Mountcastle at first base.

Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and one run scored in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.
Mountcastle has been making some loud contact in May, with seven of his 11 hits this month going for extra bases. The first baseman is slashing .288/.331/.511 with six home runs, 18 RBI, 22 runs scored, two stolen bases, 11 doubles and a triple over 35 contests overall. Per Statcast, Mountcastle has a 46.6 percent hard-hit rate this season, the best mark of his career, though his 10.7 percent barrel rate is the lowest it's been in four years.

Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Homers vs. Yankees
Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a home run, two total RBI and an additional run scored in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Yankees.
Mountcastle got the Orioles on the board in the third inning with a solo shot off Carlos Rodon, tying the game 1-1. He'd add a second RBI with a base hit in the fifth, extending the lead to 4-1, before scoring on a Jordan Westburg triple. It was a nice finish to the series for the 27-year-old Mountcastle, who'd gone 0-for-12 in the first three games against New York. The first baseman boosted his slash line to .290/.345/.495 with five homers, 16 RBI and 18 runs scored through 28 games this season.
