Muncy went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins. Muncy quickly put the Dodgers ahead with a first-inning grand slam off of Edward Cabrera. It was his sixth career grand slam and fourth home run in his last three games, as he now has eight RBI over that span. Muncy is currently hitting .263, which is well above his career average, and overall is slashing .263/.370/.570 with nine homers, 26 RBI, 22 runs and a 19:40 BB:K in 138 plate appearances.... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Sitting against lefty
Muncy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. The 33-year-old launched three homers in Saturday's contest but will still sit Sunday as lefty Max Fried pitches for Atlanta. According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, manager Dave Roberts said Muncy's absence was planned prior to Saturday's contest, and the third baseman is expected to play in the next six contests.... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Slugs three homers in blowout win
Muncy went 4-for-5 with three home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-2 win over Atlanta. The three home runs were a single-game career high for Muncy, who had blasted just five long balls through his first 30 contests of the campaign prior to Saturday. Muncy's slugging percentage rose exactly 100 points as a result of the huge game and now sits at .551 for the season, which is on pace for the best mark of his career since his first year with the Dodgers in 2018.... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Another lefty pitcher
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. The third baseman got the start Monday versus Arizona's lefty pitcher Tommy Henry in the first game of the series, but Muncy will begin in the dugout Wednesday for the second straight game against southpaw Jordan Montgomery. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat fifth in the series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Absent from lineup Tuesday
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks. Muncy started against southpaw Tommy Henry on Monday but will take a seat with lefty Jordan Montgomery on the bump for Arizona on Tuesday. Despite the Dodgers scoring eight runs against the Diamondbacks in Monday's win, the third baseman went hitless across five plate appearances. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat sixth Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -

Muncy broke the game open in the third inning by taking Chris Bassitt deep, extending the Dodgers' lead to 6-0. The 33-year-old Muncy is now 5-for-9 in his last two contests after going 0-for-10 in his previous four. Overall, he's slashing .258/.361/.494 with five homers, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored through 26 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Takes seat against southpaw
Muncy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals. With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Muncy is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off. Muncy will be joined on the bench by Gavin Lux and James Outman.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not starting against southpaw
Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets. With southpaw Sean Manaea on the mound for the Mets, Muncy will retreat to the bench to begin Friday's contest. Miguel Rojas will take his spot at the hot corner and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Gets breather versus lefty
Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Dodgers' Max Muncy: Slugs another home run
Muncy went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Padres. Muncy took Yu Darvish deep to right in the fourth to put the Dodgers ahead 3-1 and the offense would be shut out the rest of the way. That's now three home runs in his last four games and he's also managed to not strike out in consecutive games for the first time this year. Muncy has punched out multiple times in 11-of-16 games to begin the year and holds a strikeout rate of 37 percent, as he looks to level out that number as the season progresses.... See More ... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Goes deep in loss Friday
Muncy went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Friday's extra-innings loss to San Diego. Muncy mashed one of four Dodgers homers in the contest, belting a solo shot to right field in the second inning. It was his third long ball of the campaign and second in as many games. Muncy's batting average (.255) has been better so far this season than in recent campaigns, but that may not hold if he continues to strike out at a poor 41.5 percent rate.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Cranks second homer
Muncy went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Twins. Muncy led off the fourth inning with a 400-foot solo shot off Chris Paddack, tying the game 2-2. It's the second homer of the year for Muncy, who's now batting .250 with a .756 OPS and eight RBI through 14 games this season. The 33-year-old third baseman figures to see plenty of RBI chances while batting behind Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani in the Dodgers' high-powered lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not in Sunday's lineup
Muncy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Muncy is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Muncy is 6-for-21 with at least one hit in each of the first five games of the season, but he has just one extra-base hit and has struck out 10 times. He'll receive his first day off Sunday with lefty Steven Matz pitching for St. Louis.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Plays nine innings in exhibition
Muncy (illness) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Monday in the Dodgers' 5-2 exhibition win over the South Korean national team in Seoul, South Korea. In the Dodgers' final tuneup before their regular-season opener Wednesday versus the Padres in Seoul, Muncy played nine innings at third base while slotting in as the No. 5 hitter in what appeared to be manager Dave Roberts' preferred lineup configuration versus right-handed pitching. Muncy had missed some workouts last week in Arizona while battling an illness, but his ability to join the Dodgers for the trip to South Korea and play nine innings Monday sets the stage for him to be included in the lineup for both contests of the season-opening series against the Padres this week.... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Traveling for season-opening series
Muncy (illness) said Wednesday he will travel with the Dodgers to South Korea for the season-opening series against the Padres next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. The 33-year-old apparently lost 10 pounds while battling a virus for most of the past week, but it appears he'll be back in time for the start of the regular season. Muncy has a week to get his strength back before Opening Day next Wednesday, when he should be locked in at third base for Los Angeles.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Battling illness
Muncy is away from the Dodgers' camp Tuesday due to illness, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. He hasn't been in the team's lineup for a few days, and the illness likely explains why that's the case. The Dodgers have just one more Cactus League game before heading to South Korea to take on the Padres in the first two regular-season contests March 20 and 21, but it's not clear whether Muncy will be ready to play in Wednesday's Cactus League contest versus the Mariners.... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Returns to lineup
Muncy (hand) is starting at third base and batting fourth for the Dodgers' spring training game against the Cubs on Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Muncy had been held out for the past couple of games after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during Wednesday's contest against Texas. He resumed swinging a bat Friday and was never expected to miss much time. Muncy tied a career high with 36 homers last season and has already hit one out in six at-bats this spring.... See More ... Dodgers' Max Muncy: Takes batting practice
Muncy (hand) took batting practice Friday and is scheduled to return to Cactus League action Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Friday marks the first time Muncy has swung a bat since he was struck in the left hand by a pitch during Wednesday's exhibition game against the Rangers. The Dodgers never seemed too concerned about Muncy's availability for the regular season, and it appears he will return to the playing field after just three days of rest. The 33-year-old has logged three hits in six at-bats so far this spring, including a home run.... See More ... See Less
