  • Guardians' Johnathan Rodriguez: Making MLB debut Tuesday

Rodriguez is starting in right field and batting seventh Tuesday against the Mets.

The 24-year-old was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and will make his MLB debut for Cleveland a day later. Rodriguez posted a .276/.389/.449 slash line with seven homers through 43 games for Columbus this season, and he could carve out a regular role given the Guardians' lack of offensive production from their outfield this year.

  • Guardians' Xzavion Curry: Called up, starting Tuesday

Curry was recalled from Triple-A Columbus and will start Tuesday against the Mets, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The 25-year-old was optioned to Columbus in mid-April but will return to Cleveland's rotation as Carlos Carrasco (neck) lands on the injured list. Curry made just one start while up with the Guardians and delivered five scoreless frames, and he should have a chance to stick in the rotation with another strong performance Tuesday.

  • Guardians' Carlos Carrasco: Out with neck spasms

The Guardians placed Carrasco on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to acute neck spasms, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The veteran right-hander was scheduled to start Tuesday against the Mets but will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Carrasco had been pitching well of late with a 3.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in his past three starts, and it's unclear how long he's expected to be unavailable. Xzavion Curry is being called up from Triple-A Columbus to start Tuesday.

  • Guardians' David Fry: Knocks in two runs Monday

Fry went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and two RBI in Monday's 3-1 win against the Mets.

Fry plated two of Cleveland's three runs with a single in the first inning. He has been swinging a hot bat in May, slashing .353/.488/.647 with three homers, seven RBI and 10 runs along with an 8:8 BB:K over 43 plate appearances. Fry also has a stolen base in each of his past two games after swiping just one bag across his first 30 games this season.

  • Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Cruises to 14th save

Clase earned a save against the Mets on Monday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Clase inherited a two-run lead when he entered in the ninth frame and made quick work of New York, needing just 12 pitches to set down the side in order. The right-hander has yielded just one earned run all season, giving him a sparkling 0.37 ERA through 24.1 frames. Clase has posted an outstanding 24:2 K:BB and is tied for first in the majors with 14 saves.

  • Guardians' Ben Lively: Fans seven in victory

Lively (3-2) earned the win over the Mets on Monday, allowing one run on six hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

The only run Lively allowed in the outing came via a Tomas Nido solo homer in the third inning. Lively was otherwise excellent, matching a season high with seven punchouts and falling one out shy of recording a quality start. The right-hander is in the midst of the best season of his career, posting a 2.84 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB over 38 innings. Prior to this season Lively owned a 5.05 ERA across 208.2 career frames.

  • Guardians' Johnathan Rodriguez: Receives first major-league call-up

The Guardians recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Columbus on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Ramon Laureano, who was designated for assignment. Rodriguez, 24, has slashed .276/.389/.449 with seven home runs and four stolen bases this season with Columbus. The Guardians have been desperate for production from any outfielder not named Steven Kwan this season, and Kwan is currently out with a hamstring injury, so it's possible Rodriguez will get a long look. He will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Guardians' Ramon Laureano: Designated for assignment

Laureano was designated for assignment by the Guardians on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Laureano has slashed just .143/.265/.229 with a 38.6 percent strikeout rate for Cleveland this season to earn a trip off the 40-man roster. He is sure to clear waivers given that he's making $5.15 million this season, and Laureano would also likely accept an outright assignment by the Guardians since declining one would mean forfeiting what remains of his salary.

He's registered a strong 3.23 ERA over his last seven starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.93 through 52.2 frames. Bibee's next outing is currently projected to be a road matchup with the Angels.

  • Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Racks up three more hits

Gimenez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

That's five multi-hit efforts in a row for Gimenez, and Saturday saw the second baseman earn his second three-hit game of the season. While he's making steady contact lately, he has just two extra-base hits over his last six contests. Gimenez is slashing .276/.333/.371 with two home runs, seven stolen bases, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple of 190 plate appearances as the Guardians' usual No. 2 hitter.
