WWE Raw results, recap, grades: The Bloodline costs Jey Uso the intercontinental title against Bron Breakker

Just under one month ago, Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker to win the intercontinental championship, Uso's first singles title in WWE. On Monday night, Breakker took back his title, but he needed help from The Bloodline to do so.

Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and the rest of The Bloodline showed up at ringside during the main event. While Sikoa initially said he was there to help Uso, his intentions quickly shifted after Uso rebuffed the group

In the end, Fatu took out Uso, setting up Breakker to regain the title and leaving Uso likely needing to crawl back to the "original" Bloodline to deal with Sikoa's out-of-control group.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The Bloodline costs Jey Uso the intercontinental title against Bron Breakker

Intercontinental Championship – Bron Breakker def. Jey Uso (c) via pinfall to win the championship. Breakker was interviewed ahead of the match and admitted that, while he does respect Uso, he also believes that Uso's family drama with The Bloodline means he is distracted. That distraction showed up during the match, with Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu appearing in the crowd, with Sikoa flashing tickets. Uso confronted Sikoa and Sikoa said "I'm here to help you win." Tonga Loa then showed up on the other side of the crowd as did Tama Tonga, with Uso delivering superkicks to both. This brought Sikoa over the ringside barricade and to ringside. Sikoa then shoved Uso out of the way of a Breakker spear, eating the move himself. Fatu jumped the barricade and came face-to-face with Breakker before Uso hit both with a suicide dive.

Back in the ring, Uso avoided a "super spear" before hitting a pair of superkicks, a spear and an Uso splash for a two count. After more Bloodline distractions, Fatu took out Uso behind the referee's back. Breaker hit the spear and scored the pin to regain the championship.

Uso's reign as intercontinental champion was a short one but it served two main purposes. First, it gave Uso a solo title as reward for years of fantastic work and consistently improving as a singles performer. Second, it was just the latest move in the saga of The Bloodline. The good news is, the main event was a blast because of the Bloodline involvement. No single moment was better, however, than Breakker and Fatu coming face-to-face. The crowd was rabid for the possibility of those two wild men hooking it up. Breakker is back with the belt, Uso almost certainly has to go back to Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns to deal with this "new Bloodline" and the story rolls on. Grade: B+

What else happened on WWE Raw?

  • Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed brawled to start the show. Rollins attacked Reed backstage as he arrived at the arena. Rollins then went to the ring and called Reed out, with the two fighting each other -- while fighting off security -- until Reed missed a Tsunami onto the commentary desk. The pair would brawl again backstage later in the evening. They would brawl one more time before Adam Pearce screamed at both and made a match at Crown Jewel official.
  • World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender Tournament -- New Day def. Authors of Pain via pinfall when Kofi Kingston pinned Rezar with a roll-up. The Miz was with Final Testament and R-Truth attacked him during the match, causing the distraction that brought about the end of the match. Afterward, Final Testament attacked Truth and Xavier Woods refused to help -- and held back Kingston -- saying they just needed to focus on winning the titles.
  • The Wyatt Sicks attacked Final Testament when New Day failed to make the save. The lights went out and when they returned, the Wyatt Sicks had surrounded the ring. After a brawl went into the crowd, Miz was pleased with himself for managing to avoid the attack when Uncle Howdy appeared behind him. Paul Ellering shoved Miz out of the way and was put in Howdy's mandible claw while Miz ran away.
  • Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane def. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez via disqualification after interference from Meta-Four. After the match, Rhea Ripley ran in and attacked both Morgan and Rodriguez. After Dominik Mysterio ran in for the save, Ripley got her licks in on him too before he was pulled to safety by Morgan and Rodriguez.
  • World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender Tournament -- Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee def. The Creed Brothers via pinfall after Lee hit a frog splash. Mysterio and Lee will now face New Day and War Raiders next Monday to determine who will get a shot at the world tag team titles.
  • Damian Priest confronted Gunther, saying that he wanted the world heavyweight championship back but that he wasn't looking for a handout. Instead, Priest said he'd earn it and when Gunther returns from Crown Jewel, Priest will be his new problem.
