Champions League draw results, bracket: Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool matchups; Man U vs. Sociedad in Europa

The UCL draw took place and determined the road until the final

The UEFA Champions League is set and we will see some exciting matchups in the Round of 16 as PSG will face Liverpool while Real Madrid will take on cross-city rivals, Atletico Madrid. At the same time, we also have a clear understanding on what will be the road to the final which will take place this season in Munich on May 31. 

Take a look at the Round of 16 fixtures:

Round of 16 Europa League draw results

The draw is set for the Europa League round of 16. And while we didn't get an all Rome derby there are plenty of interesting matchups available. England's heavy hitters Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face Real Sociedad and AZ respectively. And in another juicy matchup Roma will face Athletic Club. The matchups take place starting March 6th.

What about the quarterfinal, semifinal and final draws?

Because the bracket means that all potential opponents will now be known, it is a question of working out the order of the games and playing at home first. This will happen for the quarterfinal and semifinals one side of the bracket nominated as the potential home side for the final in Munich. As a reminder, teams from the same country can face each other in the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals as well as repeat opponents from earlier in the competition.

Good morning from Francesco Porzio. In few minutes the last UEFA Champions League's draw of the season will kick off. This is going to be a new draw considering the new format of the tournament. The top eight teams from the league phase will be seeded in the round of 16 and will face the winning teams from the playoffs, the new round in this year's format which pitted teams who finished the league phase 9-16 against team that finished 17-24. 

The tournament now populates its bracket with the round of 16, quarterfinal and semifinal draws predefined via a pairings system determined by the teams' final league positions.
