  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Snaps long, long goal drought

Krebs scored the game's first goal during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Flames. Krebs scored just his fourth goal of the season to snap a 29-game goal drought. The 23-year-old center hasn't taken the step forward many hoped would come this season. Sunday's goal was just his second point in the last eight games, a stretch in which he's put only five shots on goal. There aren't many signs that this will be a turning point in his season.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Generates helper in win

Krebs logged an assist, four PIM, three hits and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken. Krebs remains mired in a goal drought, which is now up to 27 contests. He has just seven helpers in that span, and he's not contributing much else to offset the lack of scoring. The 23-year-old shouldn't be expected to rise above a third-line role with such limited offense. He's at 14 points, 63 shots on net, 61 PIM, 72 hits and a plus-5 rating through 67 appearances on the year.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Nabs assist in win

Krebs posted an assist and two hits in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Kings. Krebs' contributions remain limited in a fourth-line role, but he's managed three points over his last seven games. The 22-year-old helped out on an Alex Tuch tally in the third period, which was the game-winner. Krebs is up to nine points, 48 shots on net, 48 PIM, 43 hits and a plus-4 rating over 46 contests this season, so he's not a player most fantasy managers need to be familiar with.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Bags apple Thursday

Krebs notched an assist in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Blackhawks. Krebs has scored just one goal in his last 16 outings, adding two helpers and 24 shots over that stretch. Barring an injury in the lineup, the 22-year-old center figures to remain in a bottom-six role and shouldn't be expected to factor in much with the man advantage, especially once Jeff Skinner (upper body) and Dylan Cozens (upper body) return to the lineup.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Bags second goal of season

Krebs posted a goal in Monday's 5-2 home win against the Coyotes. The goal was the second of the season for the 22-year-old Albertan pivot, and he snapped a four-game scoreless drought. He also finished with a plus-4 rating, two shots on goal, a blocked shot and a hit while winning five of his nine faceoff attempts in 14:50 of ice time across 20 shifts. Krebs has two goals and four points across the past seven outings.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Goal, assist in loss

Krebs recorded a goal and an assist in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Blues. Krebs picked up an assist on Rasmus Dahlin's first-period tally before scoring his first goal of the season in the third, tying the game at 3-3. It's an encouraging effort from Krebs, who'd been struggling offensively this year -- he had just one point in 20 contests prior to Thursday's outing. The 22-year-old center tallied nine goals and 26 points in 74 games last season.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Set to return Tuesday

Krebs is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday versus Boston after missing Saturday's 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh because of a family matter, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Per Heather Engel of NHL.com, Krebs centered the fourth line and worked on the second power-play unit during Monday's practice. Krebs has one assist, nine shots on goal and nine hits in 14 games this season.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Scores goal in finale

Krebs recorded a goal in a 5-2 victory over Columbus on Friday. Krebs didn't get a tally over his previous 28 contests, though he did register nine assists in that span. With the 2022-23 campaign in the books, Krebs has finished with nine goals, 26 points, 78 shots and 93 hits. The 22-year-old surpassed his 2021-22 totals of seven goals and 22 points, but that's mostly thanks to him jumping from 57 appearances last season to 74 games in 2022-23.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: First multi-point game in a month

Krebs dished out two assists in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Capitals. Krebs posted his first multi-point performance in exactly one month, and Feb. 15 was also the last time he scored a goal. The 22-year-old forward has yet to produce consistently at the NHL level, but Krebs has shown flashes of the talent that prompted Vegas to draft him 17th overall in 2019 before trading him to Buffalo, so it's too early to write him off completely.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Tallies on power play

Krebs scored a power-play goal on two shots, logged two hits and added two PIM in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Kings. Krebs snapped his six-game goal drought with the third-period marker. The 22-year-old was bumped down to the fourth line to begin this game, but he still logged 15:59 of ice time. The center is up to seven tallies, 14 points, 41 shots on net, 51 hits, 36 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 44 contests. This was the first power-play goal of his career.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Lights lamp twice against Ducks

Krebs scored two goals in Saturday's 6-3 win over Anaheim. After tapping home a loose puck in front of the Ducks net midway through the second period, Krebs fired a laser over John Gibson's glove in the third to wrap up the scoring on the afternoon. It's the second multi-goal game of the 21-year-old's career, with the other coming last March against the Leafs, and on the season Krebs has six goals and 12 points through 37 games. The 17th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft still has upside, but as long as he remains in a bottom-six role for the Sabres, his fantasy value will remain sketchy.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Contributes goal Tuesday

Krebs provided a goal in Buffalo's 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago on Tuesday. Krebs scored at 6:21 of the second period to put Buffalo up 3-1. He has four goals and 10 points in 35 contests with Buffalo this season. Krebs, who was called back up by the Sabres on Tuesday, had an assist in his previous seven NHL outings.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Heads back to AHL

Krebs was assigned to AHL Rochester on Monday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports. Krebs was called up Sunday as part of Buffalo's lineup shuffling to keep goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in the lineup. The 23-year-old netminder was recalled from the minors Monday in a corresponding move. Coach Don Granato expects Krebs to be back in the big club Tuesday to play against Chicago.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Recalled Sunday

Krebs was called up from AHL Rochester on Sunday. Krebs will rejoin the Sabres just two days after he was sent down to the AHL. The 21-year-old forward has three goals and six assists in 34 games this season. He should continue to play a bottom-six role, that is if he's not a healthy scratch. Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was sent down in a corresponding move.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: AHL bound

Krebs was loaned to AHL Rochester on Friday. Krebs has three goals and six assists in 34 games this season but only one assist in his last seven contests. The 2019 first-round pick of the Golden Knights was an integral part of the Jack Eichel trade last season, but the Sabres were using him as a fourth-line center and he needs to see more time as a top-six forward, something he will see if he remains in Rochester. The Sabres recalled Jack Quinn in a corresponding move.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Supplies helper in win

Krebs notched an assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Golden Knights. Krebs helped out on a Lawrence Pilut goal at 13:28 of the second period, which was the game-winner. After a shaky first couple of months, Krebs has racked up three goals and a helper in his last seven games despite seeing limited usage on the fourth line. The 21-year-old center now has seven points, 23 shots on net, 26 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-1 rating in 26 appearances, though it's unclear if his uptick in offense will earn him a larger role in the near future.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Finally breaks through

Krebs has scored three goals in the past five games. Krebs got off to a sluggish start offensively with just three assists in his first 19 outings. He has heated up since then despite averaging just 12:04 of ice time on Buffalo's fourth line. Krebs has also been credited with 20 shots on goal and 21 hits through 24 contests this campaign.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Sends assist in win

Krebs notched an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 8-3 win over the Red Wings. The helper was Krebs' first point since Opening Night. The 21-year-old has been healthy scratched twice and dropped to the fourth line while losing his power-play time, so his outlook has dimmed significantly since the season began. He's added only four shots on net with five hits, six PIM and an even plus-minus rating in seven contests -- the lack of offense is discouraging after he put up 22 points in 57 games between the Sabres and the Golden Knights last year.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Remains goalless

Krebs hasn't scored a goal in four games this season. Krebs picked up an assist in Buffalo's season opener, but he hasn't earned a point in his past three games. He has only two shots on net so far, which isn't a recipe for success in the offensive end. Krebs still occupies a spot on the second power-play unit despite dropping to the fourth line. He scored seven times with 46 shots on goal over 48 contests with the Sabres last campaign.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Heading to minors

Krebs will play with AHL Rochester during the Calder Cup Playoffs, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. Krebs tallied 15 points in 18 games with AHL Rochester this season and added 22 through 48 appearances at the NHL level. The 21-year-old will get some extra reps during the AHL postseason and should have no trouble making the NHL roster to begin the 2022-23 campaign.
