Lavoie was assigned to AHL Henderson on Friday since the Golden Knights were the only team to submit a waiver claim for him, per PuckPedia.
Lavoie has racked up the frequent flyer miles over the past week, as he was shuffled between Edmonton and Vegas via waivers multiple times. He was claimed off waivers by the Oilers on Wednesday, but he wasn't able to be sent to the minors since another team put in a claim for him. However, the Golden Knights were the lone team to put in a claim for him Friday after Edmonton waived him Thursday, so he'll now prepare to suit up for Henderson.

Golden Knights' Raphael Lavoie: Waiver cycle continues
Lavoie was claimed off waivers by Vegas from Edmonton on Friday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Lavoie was also taken off waivers by the Golden Knights from the Oilers on Monday. Vegas then tried to send him to the minors by waiving him Tuesday, but Edmonton reclaimed him Wesnesday. Typically when a player heads back to his original team via waivers, that franchise can then simply send him to the minors, but that couldn't happen in Lavoie's case because a third team put in a claim. Edmonton consequently put Lavoie on waivers yet again Thursday. If Vegas was the only team to claim Lavoie this time, then he can be reassigned to the AHL, but if another team put in a claim again, then Vegas will be back in the position of either keeping him in the NHL or placing him on waivers.

Oilers' Raphael Lavoie: Put on waivers...again
Lavoie was put on waivers by Edmonton on Thursday, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.
Let us tell the tale of Lavoie. The saga began Sunday when the Oilers waive him with the dream of reassigning him to AHL Bakersfield, but that fantasy was snatched by Vegas, which claimed him. The Golden Knights evidentially had similar aspirations for Lavoie and consequently waived him Tuesday. Edmonton, not satisfied to let Vegas succeed where it had failed, reclaimed Lavoie on Wednesday. Typically, such a move would have allowed the team doing the reclaiming -- Edmonton in this case -- to send the player to the minors, bringing an end to the cycle, but this is no ordinary story, for you see, a mysterious third team also attempted to claim Lavoie on Wednesday, so while Edmonton got him back, he had to remain in the NHL. Thus, Lavoie is once more on waivers, and only time will tell if he clears and heads to the minors or if there is another chapter to come.

Oilers' Raphael Lavoie: Still in NHL
Although Edmonton successfully claimed Lavoie off waivers from Vegas on Wednesday, another team put in a claim for him, according to PuckPedia. Consequently, the Oilers can't reassign him to AHL Bakersfield, and he's currently on the NHL roster.
Lavoie was originally with Edmonton before Vegas claimed him off waivers Monday. Because the Oilers were reclaiming their former player, had they been the only team to put a claim on him this time, he could have been simply assigned to the minors without going through waivers again, but another team putting in a claim means he has to stay on the NHL roster for now. Edmonton does have the option to put Lavoie on waivers yet again, and he can be sent to the minors should he clear that time. The 24-year-old had 28 goals, 50 points and 64 PIM in 66 regular-season appearances with Bakersfield in 2023-24.

Oilers' Raphael Lavoie: Reclaimed off waivers
Lavoie was claimed off waivers by the Oilers from Vegas on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Since it was Edmonton that originally waived Lavoie on Sunday, the Oilers can now assign him to AHL Bakersfield without him having to go through the process an additional time.

Lavoie has just seven games of NHL experience, all of which came last season. In those outings, the 24-year-old center notched four shots, 13 hits and two PIM while failing to get onto the scoresheet.
