Elick signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
Elick was a second-round pick by Columbus in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and he's spent this season in the WHL, splitting time between Brandon and Tri-City. Over 66 appearances between those two clubs, he totaled two goals, 13 assists and 55 PIM.

Elick's offensive production has improved since he was traded from WHL Brandon earlier in the year, where he had just seven assists in 33 games. While Elick, a second-round pick by Columbus in 2024, isn't expected to offer high-end scoring ability at the next level, he does project as a steady, defense-first blueliner.
