Colangelo has already missed a pair of games due to his upper-body issue and will now be sidelined for two more. Prior to getting hurt, the 23-year-old winger was rolling offensively with five goals and one assist in his last six outings. With Colangelo and Ross Johnston both on the shelf, Nikita Nesterenko should get an extended look at the NHL level.

Colangelo is up to five goals and an assist during his four-game point streak. His first goal was another from close range late in the first period to open the scoring, and he added an empty-netter in the third after an early and aggressive pull of goalie Marcus Hogberg by head coach Patrick Roy when the Islanders were down 3-0. Fantasy managers should at least be taking notice of Colangelo's hot stretch. Colangelo had 24 goals and 43 points in 38 appearances with Western Michigan University in 2023-24. He then finished the regular season by scoring a goal in three games with Anaheim as well as a goal and four points across four outings with San Diego. Although Colangelo is set to start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get another shot with the Ducks at some point during the season.
