  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Strikes on power play in loss

Doan scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Lightning. Doan has three goals and an assist over his last five games, and three of those four points have come on the power play. The 24-year-old winger is up to a total of 18 goals, 39 points, 120 shots on net, 52 hits and a minus-3 rating through 56 appearances. He's more than doubled his 19-point total from 51 games with Utah last season. Doan is a middle-six regular with a steady power-play role for the Sabres, and he's proving himself a valuable forward to have in most fantasy formats.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Continues to skate into skillset

Doan had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Panthers on Monday. He also had three hits. The son of Shane has really skated into his skillset this season. Doan has 17 goals, 21 assists and 119 shots in 55 games this season, and that explosive growth earned him a big seven-year, $48.65 million contract extension two weeks ago. The workload this season may be catching up to him -- he has just four points (two goals, two assists) in his last nine games. Interestingly enough, Doan's seven hits in his last two games match the total he put up in his previous 12 games. The Olympic break will bring the right kind of rest to his game.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Strikes on power play

Doan scored a power-play goal on five shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Maple Leafs. This was Doan's first point in three games since he put pen to paper on a seven-year contract extension. The 24-year-old has endeared himself to the Sabres quickly after being acquired from Utah over the summer. Doan has 16 goals, 36 points (12 on the power play), 114 shots on net, 45 hits, 21 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 52 appearances this season. He's mainly featured in a top-six role, though he was on the third line Tuesday.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Inks seven-year contract extension

Doan signed a seven-year, $48.65 million contract extension with the Sabres on Wednesday. The Sabres acquired Doan from Utah during the offseason, and the 24-year-old is in the midst of a career-best campaign during his first year in Buffalo. Across 49 appearances this season, he's recorded 15 goals, 20 assists, 44 hits, 23 PIM and 18 blocked shots while averaging 16:04 of ice time. Doan was slated to become a restricted free agent during the offseason, but his extension will keep him in Buffalo through the 2032-33 campaign.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Scores opening goal

Doan scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Rangers. Doan's goal streak is up to four games after he opened the scoring 4:07 into Thursday's contest. Doan scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added three hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Canucks. Doan has scored in three straight games and has a total of four points in that span. The 24-year-old continues to thrive in a top-line role, though he has struggled with consistency at times this season. The winger has broken out to the tune of 13 goals, 28 points, 101 shots on net, 38 hits and a minus-5 rating over 41 outings at the halfway mark of the Sabres' season.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Scores lone goal in loss

Doan scored a goal and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. While the Sabres' winning streak ended, Doan was able to find the twine for the second game in a row. The 24-year-old was actually fairly quiet during the 10-game heater, earning a modest six points in that span. He's now at 12 goals, 27 points, 99 shots on net, 35 hits, 14 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 40 appearances. Doan remains an intriguing depth winger in fantasy since he continues to see time in the top six and on the first power-play unit.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Distributes helper Saturday

Doan tallied an assist and placed two shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Islanders. Doan slid the primary helper on his linemate Tage Thompson's goal midway through the second period. With the helper, Doan is up to 14 assists, 24 points, 87 shots on net and 30 hits through 34 games this season. While he's already set career highs in most of the major stat categories offensively, he moved just one shot shy of tying the 88 shots on goal he had through 51 games a season ago. The 23-year-old forward is in a fantastic spot to continue to produce points on the Sabres' top line. His breakout campaign is just getting started, leaving him with plenty of opportunities to secure a new contract with Buffalo once his current deal expires at the end of the 2025-26 season. Doan is on pace for 58 points this season if he can stay healthy, giving him solid value in most fantasy leagues for the rest of the year.

He has three goals and four helpers over his last six outings, with four of those seven points coming on the power play, where he's occupying a spot on the first unit. For the season, the 23-year-old is at 10 goals, 22 points (eight on the power play), 80 shots on net, 29 hits and a minus-7 rating across 30 appearances.

The 23-year-old winger has made himself a full-time NHL player this year with a career-high eight goals in just 25 contests. He's added eight helpers, 66 shots on net, 26 hits and a minus-5 rating while most often taking a middle-six spot in the lineup.

Doan recorded a goal, an assist, four shots on goal, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Red Wings. Doan scored a goal for the first time in November and snapped a six-game scoreless drought with his tip-in at the 17:58 mark of the second period. Doan has five goals and 12 total points across 18 regular-season appearances. However, his bottom-six role and his lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis are factors that limit his fantasy upside considerably.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Scores again Thursday

Doan scored a goal on five shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Bruins. Doan has a goal in each of the last two games, and he's fired five shots in each of those contests. The 23-year-old continues to fill a second-line spot and a power-play role. He is unlikely to push for elite offense, but he should be steady as long as he's seeing that kind of usage. Doan is at four goals, four assists, 34 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-2 rating through 11 outings this season.

He's up to six points this season, and he's earned all of them over the last four contests. Through seven outings overall, the 23-year-old winger has compiled 22 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating. Doan's an intriguing option in fantasy while he sees time on the second line at even strength and holds down a spot on the top power-play unit.

  • Sabres' Josh Doan: Three-point effort Wednesday

Doan produced three assists, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Senators. After being held off the scoresheet in his first three games with Buffalo, Doan broke out with the first three-point performance of his career. The second-generation NHLer was acquired from Utah this offseason in the JJ Peterka deal, and while he's been skating in a middle-six role at even strength, a regular spot on the second power-play unit gives Doan some deep-league fantasy potential.

  • Hockey Club's Josh Doan: First goal in 14 games

Doan scored a goal Saturday in a 6-4 win over Tampa Bay. He also put up six hits. He went five hole on Brandon Halverson in the first period to put Utah up 1-0. It was Doan's first goal in 14 games (five assists). The young forward is finding his way this season after surprising everyone with nine points in 11 appearances in 2023-24. This year, Doan has just 15 points, including five goals, in 39 contests. Although he had six hits Saturday, that was an anomaly -- he had just 29 in 38 games prior to this win. Doan doesn't really contribute in secondary categories.
