  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Takes overtime loss in finale

Soderblom allowed five goals on 35 shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings. The Blackhawks made an improbable third-period rally for a 4-3 lead, but Soderblom couldn't make it stick. He then gave up a goal to Adrian Kempe six seconds into overtime. Soderblom ends 2023-24 with a 5-22-2 record, a 3.92 GAA and an .880 save percentage through 32 outings. The Blackhawks will need to make significant improvements to the roster for Soderblom to be viable in most fantasy formats in 2024-25.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Set to start Thursday

Soderblom is expected to start on the road against LA on Thursday, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times. Soderblom has a 5-22-1 record, 3.88 GAA and .880 save percentage in 31 appearances this season. He faced LA on March 15 and allowed four goals on 14 shots in just 14:19 of ice time en route to a 5-0 loss, so this is an opportunity for him to get some revenge. The Kings rank 18th offensively with 3.07 goals per contest this campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Blitzed by Nashville in latest loss

Soderblom turned away 35 of 40 shots in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Predators. Soderblom was let down by Chicago's failure to kill off any penalties, resulting in three power-play goals from the visitors. The team also had no answer for Nashville's top offensive weapon, Filip Forsberg, who notched his 10th career NHL hat trick. Serving as the No. 2 option in goal behind Petr Mrazek, Soderblom has made 31 appearances this campaign, albeit with an uninspiring 5-22-1 record and ratios that simply don't help fantasy managers; the Swede has a 3.88 GAA and .880 save percentage.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Starting Friday

Soderblom will face the Predators at home Friday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports. Soderblom looked solid in relief of Petr Mrazek on Wednesday, stopping 21 of 23 shots in nearly a full night of work. Soderblom has just one win in his last five outings, posting an unsightly .885 save percentage during that span. On the year, he owns a brutal 5-21-1 record with a 3.84 GAA.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Needed in relief in St. Louis

Soderblom stopped 21 of 23 shots after replacing Petr Mrazek early in the first period of Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. St. Louis scored on its first four shots of the night, jumping out to a 4-0 lead before seven minutes had elapsed, and the last of those wound up on Soderblom's ledger. The 24-year-old netminder has appeared in eight games since the beginning of March, going 3-4-0 with a 3.49 GAA and .894 save percentage as he tries to prove he has a place in Chicago's rebuild.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Suffers defeat against Wild

Soderblom gave up four goals on 37 shots in a 4-0 loss to Minnesota on Sunday. Soderblom has allowed four goals in five of his last seven outings, posting a 3-4-0 record to go with a 3.69 GAA. Considering the Blackhawks are registering just 2.18 goals per game this season, the fewest in the NHL, Soderblom would have to be nearly perfect to put together some wins given the lack of offensive support.

He improves to 5-20-1 with an .880 save percentage and a 3.90 GAA while backing up Petr Mrazek this season.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Starting in Philadelphia

Soderblom will patrol the road crease versus the Flyers on Saturday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Soderblom hasn't played in over a week, and he wasn't great in his last appearance, surrendering four goals on just 25 shots en route to a 4-0 loss to Anaheim on March 21. He'll try to snap his personal two-game losing streak in a road matchup with a Philadelphia team that's 19-15-3 at home this year.

Soderblom allowed four goals on 25 shots in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Ducks. The 24-year-old Soderblom has allowed four goals in each of his last three outings, going 1-2-0 in that span. • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Slated to start Thursday

Soderblom is expected to start on the road against Anaheim on Thursday, according to Scott Powers of The Athletic. The Ducks rank 30th offensively with 2.46 goals per game, so they're typically a favorable assignment for goaltenders. That said, Soderblom is having a very rough campaign, posting a 4-19-1 record, 4.02 GAA and .876 save percentage in 26 contests, so it's difficult to see him as a good fantasy option, even in a situation like this. Soderblom has also struggled recently, stopping just 42 of 50 shots (.840 save percentage) over his past two outings.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Chased in first period

Soderblom stopped 10 of 14 shots in Friday's 5-0 loss to the Kings. Soderblom was replaced immediately after giving up the fourth goal to Anze Kopitar at 14:19 of the first period. After winning his last two appearances, Soderblom's poor start Friday was a return to his play from much of the season. He's now at 4-19-1 with a 4.02 GAA and an .877 save percentage over 26 outings. Given his poor performance behind a bad team, the 24-year-old should be left off most fantasy rosters.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Tending twine Friday

Soderblom will patrol the home crease Friday versus LA, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Soderblom has won his last two starts, both versus the Coyotes. He has struggled most of the season as the Blackhawks have been at or near the bottom of the standings throughout the year. He is 4-18-1 with a 3.88 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 25 appearances this season. Soderblom will face the Kings, who are averaging 33.0 shots, 12th in the NHL.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Wins second straight

Soderblom stopped 32 of 36 shots in Sunday's 7-4 victory over Arizona. It was an up-and-down outing for Soderblom, though he made some big saves while Chicago exploded for seven goals, giving the 24-year-old netminder back-to-back wins for the first time this year. Soderblom improves to 4-18-1 on the season with an .881 save percentage and 3.88 GAA. He could play his way into a timeshare with Petr Mrazek down the stretch behind a rebuilding Blackhawks team.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Winless streak continues

Soderblom stopped 30 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Flyers. The 24-year-old netminder remains mired in a winless streak, going 0-11-1 over his last 13 outings with a 4.12 GAA and .868 save percentage, but that stretch of futility has largely been a team effort -- Chicago hasn't scored more than two goals in any of his starts since before Christmas. Soderblom is firmly behind Petr Mrazek in the pecking order between the pipes, and that doesn't seem likely to change any time soon.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: In goal versus Penguins

Soderblom will start at home versus the Penguins on Thursday, Mario Tirabassi of CHGO Sports reports. Soderblom has been on the bench for the last five games. He's lost his last 10 decisions, going 0-9-1 with a 4.33 GAA and an .863 save percentage in that span. The Penguins are also struggling and will be without Jake Guentzel (upper body), but Soderblom remains a risky fantasy option regardless of opponent.

Soderblom will be stationed between the pipes for Friday's game in New Jersey, per the NHL's media site. Soderblom is stuck in an ugly rut, going 0-6-1 over his last eight appearances. Over that stretch, he's registered a 4.45 GAA and an .861 save percentage. Soderblom's last win came against Toronto on Nov. 24. The 24-year-old is 2-12-1 with a 4.07 GAA this season.

Overall, Soderblom is 2-12-1 with an ugly .874 save percentage and 4.07 GAA while backing up Petr Mrazek this season.

Soderblom remains at 2-11-1 with a 4.22 GAA and an .868 save percentage over 16 appearances this season. He may get to play in the coming week -- the Blackhawks have a back-to-back against the Rangers on Thursday and the Devils on Friday.

Through 14 outings, he has a 2-10-1 record, 4.00 GAA and .872 save percentage in what has been a rough campaign for him. At least St. Louis, which is tied for 24th offensively this year with 2.88 goals per game, is a favorable matchup.
