Chicago Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time on Tuesday night when he made the mistake of standing in front of the Minnesota Wild net triying to bang a rebound past goalie Niklas Backstrom.

That's when Minnesota's Brett Sutter, playing in his first game of the season for the Wild, took it upon himself to do his crease-clearing duties and launched Versteeg into the back of the net, knocking it off its moorings.

Score!

Sutter has only scored two goals in 54 NHL games over parts of six seasons, and now he can add putting a Blackhawk into the net to his résumé.

But really, Versteeg is fortunate he wasn't injured on the play given the way he flew into the post.

There was no penalty called on the play.
