Winfree was waived by Cleveland in July after police opened an investigation into an aggravated robbery case in which he was a suspect. The league subsequently handed him a two-game suspsension. He is now free to look for a new opportunity.

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Winfrey is "working through a couple of things," Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Winfrey, the rookie fourth-round pick, played 40 defensive snaps Sunday and left the field at the two-minute warning with trainers. The Browns will evaluate him and learn more in the coming days.
