    Tart was waived by the Texans on Saturday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports. Tart's departure comes after he missled the Titans' Week 14 game due to personal reasons. It is unclear if that situation is what led to his release. The defensive tackle played 30 defensive snaps (43 percent) in Tennessee's most recent game. Jaleel Johnson is the most likely candidate to replace his nose tackle snaps.

    Tart signed his restricted free agent tender worth $4.3 million Monday, Mike Moraitis of USA Today reports. Despite not signing the tender, Tart was still participating in the Titans' offseason program after signing a waiver, per Jim Wyatt of the team's official site. The undrafted product out of Florida International has developed into a starter over the past three seasons and finished the 2022 campaign with 34 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception across 16 appearances (485 defensive snaps).

    Tart has been suspended one game for violating the NFL's unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules, Michael Signora of NFL Communications reports. Tart will go without pay for one week after purposely stepping on an opponent during Sunday's 41-35 loss to the Browns. The 23-year-old defensive tackle has appeared in each of Tennessee's past five games, fielding an average of 21.2 defensive snaps per contest. Without Tart available Week 14 for a road trip to Jacksonville, depth along the interior will be depleted behind starting nose tackle DaQuan Jones.
