  • Daviyon Nixon: Waived by Seattle

    The Seahawks waived Nixon on Tuesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Nixon has had a whirlwind December -- he was waived by Carolina on Dec. 13, signed by Seattle on Dec. 21 and waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday. The defensive tackle was inactive Saturday against Kansas City but played in seven games for the Panthers earlier this season, totaling six tackles (three solo) over 62 defensive snaps. Seattle claimed Isaiah Mack off waivers from Baltimore on Tuesday in a corresponding move.

  • Panthers' Daviyon Nixon: Full practice Friday

    Nixon (illness) was a full participant at practice Friday and will be ready to play Sunday against the Falcons. After dealing with an illness to begin the week, Nixon was able to log a full practice Friday, clearing any sort of concern surrounding his availability for Week 8. Nixon has produced two tackles while logging 38 defensive snaps over four games this season.

  • Panthers' Daviyon Nixon: Joins Panthers

    Carolina signed Nixon to the 53-man roster Tuesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. The 2021 fifth-round pick began the season on Carolina's practice squad. He played 14 percent of defensive snaps during Week 3's win over the Saints, in which he recorded one assisted tackle.

    The Panthers waived Nixon on Monday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. Nixon, a 2021 fifth-round pick, appeared in seven games for the Panthers as a rookie, totaling nine tackles and a half-sack across 77 defensive snaps. He initially made the team's 53-man roster but has been let go in favor of veteran defensive end Henry Anderson.
