Sieler tallied 63 tackles (32 solo), including 10.0 sacks, one interception that he returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2023. Sieler had never previously surpassed 3.5 sacks in a season, but he managed to thrive in defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's scheme. He remains under contract with Miami for the next three seasons, though the team does have a potential 'out' after the 2024 campaign. As long as the Dolphins retain Christian Wilkins this offseason, he and Sieler will once again combine to form one of the NFL's most formidable interior duos along the defensive line next season.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Third straight game with sack
Sieler finished Sunday's 56-19 loss to the Ravens with five tackles (three solo), including one sack, and a forced fumble. Sieler got to Lamar Jackson late in the first quarter that led to a Baltimore punt two plays later. He also forced his first fumble of the season when he stripped Gus Edwards on a run early in the third quarter. After totaling 10 sacks in his first six seasons, Sieler has erupted for 9.5 sacks on the year and has a chance to reach double-digits in Miami's Week 18 contest against Buffalo.... See More ... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Inks three-year extension
Sieler and the Dolphins agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $38.65 million Sunday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel Reports. Furones notes that the deal includes $20 million guaranteed. Sieler was claimed off waivers by Miami in December of 2019 after being waived by the Ravens. He's started in every game for the Dolphins since 2020 and recorded career highs last year in tackles (70) and forced fumbles (two) while matching a career-high with 3.5 sacks. He's formed a formidable duo with defensive lineman Christian Wilkins -- who has sat out of team drills while dealing with a contract dispute of his own -- and the extension ensures that the Dolphins will have at least one of their core interior lineman on the books for the foreseeable future.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Nabs another sack
Sieler recorded five tackles (three solo) and one sack in Saturday's loss to Buffalo. Sieler recorded half of a sack in Week 13 against San Francisco, and he made it to the quarterback again Saturday to bring down Josh Allen. Sieler now sits with 58 tackles (35 solo), four passes defended and two forced fumbles through 14 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Will play Sunday
Sieler (ankle/thumb) is officially active for Sunday's tilt against the Patriots. Despite practicing in just a limited fashion throughout the week, Sieler will suit up for the season finale. With Taco Charlton (ankle) sidelined, along with Avery Moss, Sieler could see a slight uptick in snaps for the contest.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Listed as questionable
Sieler (ankle/thumb) has been given a questionable tag for Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports. This designation for Sieler is unsurprising, as he practiced in limited fashion all week. If he ends up being unable to go, look for Avery Moss to handle the majority of the defensive end depth responsibilities.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Healthy scratch Week 14
Sieler (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Jets, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports. Sieler joined the Dolphins off waivers Tuesday. He could have the opportunity to play a depth role on the defensive line down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Zach Sieler: Jumps to active roster
The Ravens promoted Sieler to the active roster Saturday. Sieler only played in two games with the Ravens last year after they took him in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He's spent the first four games of this season on the Ravens' practice squad, but he'll now add depth for Sunday's game versus the Steelers since Brandon Williams (knee) is questionable....
