Tru Edwards: Signed to Rams' practice squad
The Rams signed Edwards to the practice squad Wednesday, Wyatt Miller of the team's official site reports.
Edwards wasn't able to make the Rams' 53-man roster after logging four catches (on six targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown in two preseason games. He'll stay in Los Angeles as a member of the Rams' practice squad, where the undrafted rookie will be eligible for elevation to the active roster if the team needs depth at wide receiver.

Tru Edwards: Let go by Rams
The Rams waived Edwards on Tuesday.
Edwards joined the Rams in late April as an undrafted free agent. He missed the team's preseason opener due to an undisclosed injury, but he returned for the final two contests and posted four catches (on six targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown. While Edwards wasn't able to carve a spot for himself on the Rams' 53-man roster, he is a candidate to remain in Los Angeles as a member of the team's practice squad.

Rams' Tru Edwards: Just two targets
Edwards secured one of two targets for 25 yards during Saturday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Browns.
Notably, Edwards didn't see his first target until the second half on a day the Rams' top six wideouts all were given the day off. Brennan Presley once again led the Rams receivers in yardage with 51 yards on three catches, and Britain Covey saw six targets thrown his way, tied for the team high with Drake Stoops. Edwards, a UDFA out of Louisiana Tech, has been looking at an uphill battle to make it on the 53-man roster given the wealth of talent the Rams have at wide receiver, and a fairly pedestrian preseason (outside of his game-winning touchdown catch last week) may not be enough to push the needle in favor of snagging one of the final roster spots.

Rams' Tru Edwards: Catches game-winning TD
Edwards secured three of four targets for 32 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 23-22 preseason win against the Chargers.
It was a stunning final drive for the Rams, capped off by Edwards leaping up to snare a dart from Stetson Bennett for a game-winning eight-yard touchdown reception with just seconds left on the clock. Despite the late-game heroics, the UDFA seems unlikely to crack the final 53-man roster with Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield taking the first five spots and Xavier Smith likely to hold on as the sixth wideout rostered by the Rams.

Rams' Tru Edwards: Comes off PUP list
The Rams activated Edwards (undisclosed) from the active/PUP list Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Edwards began training camp on the PUP list due to an undisclosed injury, but he's now healthy enough to resume practicing. He'll look to use Saturday's preseason game against the Chargers as an opportunity to make up for lost time.

Rams' Tru Edwards: Lands on PUP list
The Rams placed Edwards (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
It's unclear what type of injury Edwards has, but he will be eligible to participate in practice and preseason games once he has fully recovered. He signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in late April after a strong final collegiate season at Louisiana Tech, catching 84 passes for 986 yards and six touchdowns across 13 games in 2024.
