Parker worked out for the Seahawks on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Parker was let go by the 49ers in early September after he reached an injury settlement with the team following a hamstring injury, but he now appears ready to return to action. The cornerback played in three games with the Lions last season, recording 11 tackles.... See More ... See Less

AJ Parker: Let go by Detroit
The Lions waived Parker (hip) Friday. Parker was held out of last Sunday's win over the Packers with a hip injury, though he did not appear on Detroit's Week 10 injury report before being let go Friday. The 24-year-old cornerback logged 103 defensive snaps over the Lions' previous three games, recording 11 tackles over that span. Parker was previously waived as part of Detroit's final roster cuts in late August before re-signing with the team Oct. 8, and he could re-sign to the team's practice squad if he's unable to secure a roster spot elsewhere.... Lions' AJ Parker: Won't play Sunday
Parker (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Packers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Parker will be sidelined for Week 9 due to a hip injury he picked up during the team's Week 8 loss to Miami. The second-year defensive back had seen a modest role over the past two games, but his absence shouldn't have a major impact on Detroit's secondary.... See More ... See Less -
AJ Parker: Waived by Detroit
The Lions waived Parker on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Parker signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent last offseason and made the team due to a litany of injuries in Detroit's secondary. He made the most of his opportunity by registering 50 tackles, seven pass defenses, one interception and one forced fumble across 13 appearances as a rookie. However, the undrafted cornerback now finds himself among a wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' AJ Parker: Highly successful rookie year
Parker registered 50 tackles, seven pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble over 13 games in 2021. After the previous regime whiffed on expensive nickel cornerback Justin Coleman, Detroit's new-look front office did well to upgrade the position and save money in the process last offseason. The key was acquiring Parker, who not only earned a significant role as an undrafted free agent over Nickell Robey-Coleman and Corn Elder, but also made a number of big plays. Along with fellow undrafted gem Jerry Jacobs, the Kansas State product is one of two young, cheap building blocks in the secondary that could help Detroit get out of the NFC North cellar in the coming years.... Lions' AJ Parker: Serious injury feared
The Lions fear Parker (shoulder) suffered a serious injury in Sunday's loss to the Rams, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. Coach Dan Campbell said Parker could be "down for a while" due to the injury. Further clarity on the severity of Parker's shoulder injury could still surface, but it sounds like he's probably going to miss Detroit's Week 8 matchup with the Eagles and could be out beyond that point as well.... Lions' AJ Parker: Active for Week 1
Parker (hip) is active for Week 1 against the 49ers. Parker had been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but he's healthy enough to crack the active roster for the season opener. The undrafted Kansas State product could see a sizable number of snaps due to his defensive versatility.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' AJ Parker: Earning role on defense
Parker has worked himself into a significant role within the Lions' defense, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports. The undrafted rookie had reportedly earned first-team reps at nickel corner over the past couple of weeks before earning the start during Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers. Considering Detroit played every other member of its starting secondary, Parker indeed seems to be in the Lions' plans on defense this year.... See More ... See Less
