Colts' Julian Blackmon: Staying with Indy
Blackmon is slated to return to the Colts on a one-year deal, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
During the 2023 regular season Blackmon recorded 88 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 15 games with the Colts. Now that he's back with the team and presumably past a late-season shoulder issue, the 2020 third-rounder is poised to maintain his key role in Indy's secondary and occupy a starting safety slot in 2024.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Impressive numbers in contract year
Blackmon (shoulder) racked up 88 tackles (65 solo), eight passes defensed with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries across 15 regular-seasongames with the Colts in 2023.
Blackmon missed the last two games of the year due to a shoulder injury, and Indianapolis' secondary suffered for it, especially in the team's season-ending playoff loss to the Texans. The safety tallied career-high marks across the board in the final year of his rookie contract, emerging as one of the more dependable players in the Colts' secondary. If Indianapolis doesn't ultimately re-sign Blackmon, he won't have a shortage of interest on the free-agent market.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Goes to IR
Indianapolis placed Blackmon (shoulder) on its injured reserve list Tuesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
The move means Blackmon will miss the final two weeks of the regular season and won't be eligible to return until the week of the AFC Championship at the earliest. In the meantime, 2022 third-rounder Nick Cross will probably fill in at safety.

Blackmon exited in the first half with the injury and was originally considered questionable to return. His exit will be a blow to the Colts' secondary for the remainder of the matchup against Atlanta. Nick Cross will continue to fill in at strong safety.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, Blackmon found himself in the right place at the right time on an overthrown ball intended for George Pickens, preserving a 27-13 lead. He's having a breakout season and is a viable IDP option for Week 16.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Picks off pass
Blackmon notched four tackles, two passes defended and an interception in Sunday's 10-6 win over the Patriots.
Blackmon's interception came at an opportune time, as the Utah product picked off a pass intended for Mike Gesicki at the Colts' one-yard line with just 4:25 remaining, helping seal Indianapolis' victory. Blackmon now has a career-high three interceptions on the season, as well as 66 tackles (47 solo) and five passes defended. After a bye week, Blackmon and the Colts will host the Buccaneers for a Week 12 matchup.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Logs second interception
Blackman recorded five tackles (four solo), an interception and an additional pass deflection during Indianapolis' 39-38 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Blackman was one of two Colts defenders to snag an interception, but that was not enough to give the team the win. The 25-year-old now has two interceptions on the season to go along with 50 tackles (15 solo).

Blackmon snatched his first interception of year in the fourth quarter, stepping in front of a pass from Ryan Tannehill that was intended for DeAndre Hopkins. The pick put the game on ice for Indianapolis, and the safety is now up to 41 tackles, an interception and a pass deflection over the first five games of 2023.
