Colts' Julian Blackmon: Misses Thursday's practice
Blackmon (shoulder) did not practice Thursday.
Blackmon has now missed back-to-back practices, so he may need to participate in at least a limited capacity Friday for any chance of being available for Sunday's road matchup against the Packers. Trevor Denbow and Rodney Thomas will be candidates to handle increased defensive snaps if Blackmon misses any time.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Dealing with shoulder issue
Blackmon (shoulder) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.
Indianapolis' top strong safety logged 13 total tackles during the team's Week 1 loss, but it appears he may have sustained a shoulder injury in that effort. Blackmon's practice participation Thursday and Friday will provide a better indication of whether the 26-year-old will be able to suit up for the Colts in Week 2.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Productive in loss
Blackmon recorded 13 tackles (10 solo) in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Texans.
Blackmon led the defense with 10 solo stops, although he was second to Nick Cross in total tackles. Despite the loss, it was a productive day from a fantasy perspective for the Utah product, who will look to carry over that momentum into Week 2 against the Packers.

Colts' Julian Blackmon: Staying with Indy
Blackmon is slated to return to the Colts on a one-year deal, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
During the 2023 regular season Blackmon recorded 88 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 15 games with the Colts. Now that he's back with the team and presumably past a late-season shoulder issue, the 2020 third-rounder is poised to maintain his key role in Indy's secondary and occupy a starting safety slot in 2024.

Blackmon (shoulder) racked up 88 tackles (65 solo), eight passes defensed with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries across 15 regular-seasongames with the Colts in 2023.
Blackmon missed the last two games of the year due to a shoulder injury, and Indianapolis' secondary suffered for it, especially in the team's season-ending playoff loss to the Texans. The safety tallied career-high marks across the board in the final year of his rookie contract, emerging as one of the more dependable players in the Colts' secondary. If Indianapolis doesn't ultimately re-sign Blackmon, he won't have a shortage of interest on the free-agent market.
