  • Ravens' Anthony Brown: Should play Sunday in some capacity

Brown is expected to be part of a timeshare at quarterback in Sunday's wild-card game against the Bengals along with Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist), who is listed as questionable but is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Ravens haven't formally named a starter for their playoff opener, but Rapoport suggests that designation might not matter much, as head coach John Harbaugh is expected to use packages of plays throughout the game that cater to both quarterbacks' strengths. When healthy, Huntley has been filling in as the starter for the injured Lamar Jackson (knee), but Brown picked up his first NFL start in the Week 18 loss to Cincinnati while Huntley was out with shoulder tendinitis. Though Huntley put in a full practice Friday and looks set to play, the Ravens apparently aren't convinced that he's ready to handle the entire playbook since the shoulder issue has limited his throwing activity in recent days. The extent to which Brown may be used is difficult to pin down, but the timeshare arrangement nonetheless figures to limit the upside of both quarterbacks in DFS.

  • Ravens' Anthony Brown: Two picks in first career start

Brown completed 19 of 44 passes for 286 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Bengals.

Brown made his first career start with both Tyler Huntley (shoulder) and Lamar Jackson (knee) sidelined. The Ravens showed no hesitation in letting him take to the air, though he managed only 6.5 yards per attempt and threw two interceptions that led directly to Bengals' touchdowns. Baltimore and Cincinnati will meet up again in the wild-card round, though it would be surprising to see Brown under center again.

  • Ravens' Anthony Brown: Gets first NFL start

Brown will start at quarterback Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati with Tyler Huntley (shoulder) declared inactive, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Ravens are prioritizing preparation for the playoffs, holding out some other starters that weren't even listed on the injury report. Brown, an undrafted rookie, won't have TE Mark Andrews or RB J.K. Dobbins at his disposal for his first NFL start, and other key players could also be rested or pulled early. Brown completed three of five passes in a Week 14 win over the Steelers after Huntley entered concussion protocol, mostly handing the ball off to his running backs.

  • Ravens' Anthony Brown: Candidate for Week 18 start

Brown took the reps with the first-team offense during practice this week and could start Sunday in Cincinnati if Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) -- who is listed as questionable -- isn't available, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Top quarterback Lamar Jackson (knee) has already been ruled out for a fifth straight game, and though Huntley is the next man up on the depth chart, he wasn't able to do much throwing in practice this week while he manages right shoulder tendinitis. Though Baltimore has some playoff positioning at stake in Week 18, the team is most likely to wind up as the AFC's No. 6 seed and take on the Bengals in a rematch during the wild-card round, so head coach John Harbaugh could choose to err on the side of caution and hold Huntley out. The Ravens elevated a fourth quarterback (Brett Hundley) to the roster Saturday, potentially setting the stage for Hundley to back up Brown while Huntley sits out. Resolution on the Ravens' plans at quarterback should come when the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but Brown looks like he may have a chance at seeing his first extended NFL action. The undrafted rookie out of Oregon's lone appearance to date came against the Steelers back in Week 14, when he completed three of five pass attempts for 16 yards.
