Panthers' Dane Jackson: Sent to IR by Carolina
The Panthers placed Jackson (hamstring) on injured reserve/designated for return Tuesday.
Teams are allowed to designate two players to return from IR if placed on injured reserve ahead of final cuts, and Jackson is one of them for Carolina. He was injured roughly two weeks ago and was given a recovery timeline of six weeks. Jackson's placement on IR will keep him sidelined for at least the first four games of 2024. Look for Troy Hill to get the first crack at snaps alongside Jaycee Horn at cornerback.

Panthers' Dane Jackson: Suffers hamstring injury
Jackson is expected to miss around six weeks with a hamstring injury, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
This puts Jackson's Week 1 status in serious doubt, and there could even be a chance he opens the season on injured reserve with that type of recovery timeline. Jackson was expected to open 2024 as the Panthers' starting corner opposite Jaycee Horn. It could thrust veteran Troy Hill into every-down duties, which would leave Carolina particularly thin at the position.
