Rams' Travin Howard: Remains out
Howard (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Saints, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Howard will miss a second straight game due to a hip injury. He operated primarily on special teams during his only appearance of the season (Week 9), so his continued absence shouldn't impact the Rams defense.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Travin Howard: Won't play Week 10
Howard (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Howard was sidelined over the first eight weeks of the season after undergoing groin surgery in July, and he was able to return for the Rams' Week 9 loss to Tampa Bay. However, the 26-year-old popped up with a hip injury following the contest and did not practice at all Week 10. Howard's next opportunity to play will come versus New Orleans on Sunday, Nov. 20.... Rams' Travin Howard: Placed on PUP list
Howard has been placed on the Rams' active/PUP list due to a groin injury, Stu Jackson of the team's official website reports. According to head coach Sean McVay, Howard pulled his groin "pretty good" while training on his own. It was bad enough that he could potentially need surgery. Rams' Travin Howard: Moves to injured reserve
Howard was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a hamstring injury, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Howard exclusively played special teams in all but one game this season, and he'll be sidelined for at least three weeks after suffering the injury during Sunday's win over the Texans. The specifics of the hamstring issue remain unclear, though the 2018 seventh-round pick is expected to return at some point this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Travin Howard: Gets ERFA tender
The Rams tendered Howard (knee) a one-year deal Thursday. Howard cannot negotiate with other teams now that the Rams have tendered him a one-year contract. He missed all of 2020 due to a torn meniscus, but seeing that the Rams are confident enough to re-sign him could be interpreted as a positive indication of Howard's current health. He could be fully ready for the tentative start of offseason activities.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Travin Howard: Shut down for season
Head coach Sean McVay said Howard will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus, and he'll miss the 2020 season, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Howard played all 16 games in 2019 mostly in a special-teams role, but he'll now turn his attention to getting healthy for the 2021 campaign. He was expected to have a heightened role this year after the departure of Cory Littleton, but now Kenny Young could enjoy expanded responsibilities. The 24-year-old Howard will be placed on injured reserve in the near future.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Travin Howard: Battling knee injury
Howard (knee) sat out Saturday's practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Howard has enjoyed occasional first-team snaps on the Rams' defense, but he's not a lock for a starting role. He'll need to beat out either Micah Kiser or Troy Reeder, and any missed time works against Howard, so he'll seek a quick return to the field.... See More ... See Less
