Barrett recorded two tackles, including a sack, and returned an interception for a touchdown against the Bears in a Week 2 victory Sunday.
Barrett was on the field for just over half of Tampa Bay's defensive snaps and made the most of his playing time, registering a sack of Justin Fields early in the second quarter and notching a pick-six late in the fourth period to put the Bucs up by 10 points. The touchdown was the nine-year veteran's first in the NFL. The sack was also his first so far this season.

Buccaneers' Shaquil Barrett: Feels 'close to 100 percent'
Barrett, who suffered a torn Achilles in Week 8 last season, feels like he's already close to full health early in training camp, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Barrett is just a few days over nine months removed from his Oct. 27 Achilles tear, but he managed to avoid the active/PUP list to start training camp and then operated at full speed in the Buccaneers' first practice Wednesday. Barrett credits the team's medical and training staff for developing a plan that put him on pace to be healthy for the start of camp and also allow him to immediately begin participating without restrictions mentally. "All of the running and the change of direction stuff I've been doing with the trainers helped me get a level of confidence in myself," he said. "So, it's just a matter of getting out here and going against an offensive tackle and getting some pressure against me while I'm trying to turn the corner."

Buccaneers' Shaquil Barrett: Fully cleared to begin camp
Barrett (Achilles) has been fully cleared to practice at training camp, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The 30-year-old avoided the PUP list to begin camp and is healed after tearing his Achilles' tendon in Week 8 of last season. Barrett registered three sacks in eight games prior to his injury. The NFL's sacks leader with 19.5 in 2019, Barrett is looking for a bounce-back season for a rebuilding Bucs club.

Barrett (Achilles) isn't practicing during the start of Tampa Bay's three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Barrett tore his Achilles in Week 8 last season, but he said earlier in the offseason that he's "ready to go" and doesn't "anticipate missing any games" to start 2023. However, it's not surprising to see the Buccaneers taking a cautious approach with the veteran linebacker this offseason. Barrett recorded 37.5 sacks across his first three years in Tampa Bay before missing most of 2022.
