  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Headed for free agency

The Cardinals will allow Momah (ankle) to become an unrestricted free agent, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.

The Cardinals unsurprisingly didn't want to use a restricted free-agent tender, which would've cost around $1.9 million at the lowest level. Momah reportedly is making good progress in his rehab from a broken leg, ramping up his activity to include running in recent weeks. He only has three catches in 14 career games, but Arizona might consider bringing him back at a lower price to compete for a spot at the bottom of the depth chart.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Lands on injured reserve

Momah (ankle) was officially placed on injured reserve by the Cardinals on Monday.

The Cardinals have deemed the injury a "cracked ankle" and as a "broken leg" since Momah sustained the injury in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, but his 2017 has come to a close regardless. Ricky Seals-Jones will step in as the No. 3 tight end for Arizona unless the team opts to bring in a free agent.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Will miss rest of season

Momah suffered a broken leg in Thursday's loss to the Seahawks and is out for the season.

Head coach Bruce Arians indicated post-game Thursday that Momah had suffered a "cracked ankle," but the team designated it as a broken leg Friday. Regardless, the 28-year-old will not play again this season and should find himself on injured reserve shortly. Ricky Seals-Jones will likely step in as the No. 3 tight end for the Cardinals, unless they decide to test the available free-agent options.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Ankle injury deemed serious

Coach Bruce Arians reported that Momah suffered a "cracked ankle" in Thursday's loss to the Seahawks, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Momah went down with the ankle injury in the third quarter and was unable to return to the game. Arians suggested that his injury is quite serious and could land the third-year tight end on the injured reserve list. An official announcement with regard to his future availability should become available in the next day or two.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Out with ankle injury

Momah (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's game against the Seahawks.

The Cardinals suffered several injuries Thursday night, including Tyvon Branch (knee) and D.J. Humphries (knee). Look for Jermaine Gresham and Troy Niklas to see all tight end reps for the remainder of the contest.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Questionable to return

Momah is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Seahawks after suffering an ankle injury.

Momah was shaken up late in the third quarter and was taken back to locker room to seek further evaluation. The Cardinals will have to rely on Jermaine Gresham and Troy Niklas at tight end should Momah not return to the contest.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Starting Sunday

Momah will start Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Momah is getting the nod at tight end with Jermaine Gresham (ribs) absent and Troy Niklas hampered by a hip injury. Granted, Niklas is available, but head coach Bruce Arians will role with the healthy body in the top unit.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Taking part in camp

Momah (wrist) has been a participant during training camp, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

In particular, Momah hauled in a touchdown catch on fourth and 10 during a situational period at Friday's practice, albeit as part of the third-team offense. Fortunately for the tight end, he appears to be past the broken wrist that forced him to injured reserve last season. With his focus on landing perhaps one spot on the roster behind top options Jermaine Gresham and Troy Niklas, the latter's injury history could result in a significant snap count in 2017 for Momah, assuming he locks down the No. 3 role.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Chance for larger role in 2017

Momah (wrist) will have a chance to be one of Arizona's top tight ends in 2017, Jim Koch of Raising Zona reports.

Momah saw each of his last two seasons cut short due to injury, with a torn ACL in 2015 and a broken wrist in 2016 leading to two straight years on IR. His contract with Arizona runs through 2018 and he'll have a chance to earn a role as one of the team's top tight end options. He's expected to be a full go in time for spring practices after being shut down for the season back in November.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Placed on IR

Momah (wrist) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Momah suffered a broken wrist in Sunday's loss to the Panthers that ultimately will end his season after five games. In that time, he recorded two receptions for 50 yards as the Cardinals' fourth-string tight end. He is expected to come to an injury settlement with the team.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Suffers broken wrist

Momah has reportedly suffered a broken wrist, and is expected to come to an injury settlement with the Cardinals.

Momah recorded two catches for 50 yards in his five games with the Cardinals this season. The 27-year-old's season is likely over, and it is unclear what his next step will be if he indeed comes to terms on an injury settlement with the team.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Notches first receptions of career

Momah received nine of the Cardinals' 95 offensive snaps Sunday against the Seahawks, yet he turned two receptions into 50 yards.

Promoted to the active roster prior to Week 4, Momah has been a bit part on offense, with 21 total offensive snaps versus 65 on special teams in four games. However, he was able to find soft spots in the Seahawks' defense twice Sunday, recording a pair of 20-plus yard catches. While he lagged far behind Jermaine Gresham in terms of snaps -- 82 versus nine -- Momah outgained Gresham by 35 yards and may be establishing a level of trust with quarterback Carson Palmer.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Promoted to Cards active roster

The Cardinals promoted Momah from the practice squad Tuesday, the team's official site reports.

Momah's addition to the 53-man roster is the corresponding move following Troy Niklas' (wrist) placement on the Cardinals' Reserve/Injured list. After spending last season himself on IR, Momah is still searching for his first NFL catch. With Darren Fells and Jermaine Gresham atop the TE depth chart, Momah won't be afforded a bounty of opportunity.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Recovered from 2015 preseason knee injury

Momah (torn meniscus) didn't miss a single practice during Arizona's offseason program, ArizonaSports.com reports.

Momah suffered the knee injury on the final day of the 2015 preseason, but he now appears healthy and should be full-go for the start of training camp. A converted wideout, Momah is a 6-7, 255-pound specimen with soft hands. However, he's yet to log a snap in the NFL, and could be hard-pressed to realize his potential buried under Darren Fells, Jermaine Gresham, and Troy Niklas on the tight end depth chart, not to mention a slew of talented wide receivers he'd have to compete with for targets should he earn playing time.

  • Cardinals' Ifeanyi Momah: Returning to Cardinals

Momah (knee) will be returning to the Cardinals in 2016, as the exclusive rights free agent was tendered a contract Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Momah showed promise throughout his first preseason with the Cardinals, but a torn meniscus suffered on the eve of the regular season resulted in a stay on injured reserve. Following Thursday's move, head coach Bruce Arians will thus get another look at the tight end, who will join Darren Fells, Troy Niklas, and Gerald Christian, at least, in the offseason program.
