    Minnesota and Lowry (calf) agreed to terms on a two-year, $8.5 million deal Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Lowry ended the 2022 campaign on injured reserve with a calf injury he suffered during the Packers' Christmas Day win over Miami. The 2016 fourth-round pick has 15.5 sacks across 80 career starts in seven seasons with Green Bay and should garner a solid role along Minnesota's defensive line in 2023.

    The Packers and Lowry reached an agreement on a contract extension Tuesday. Since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 draft, Lowry has slowly but surely established himself as a regular on the Packers' D-line, earning 65.5 percent of the defensive snaps last season. The workload translated to 44 tackles, three sacks, three pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. On top of that, he's been a model of health through three campaigns, seeing just one healthy scratch during that span. After getting three additional years on the deal, Lowry will comprise an imposing front with Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels in the fall.

The Packers took Lowry in the fourth round of last year's draft as he's a great fit for a 3-4 defense as a five-technique defensive end. Although it took him some time to acclimate to the professional game, Lowry posted sacks in back-to-back games during Week 14 and Week 15, which represented the first and second of his career, respectively. However, with starters Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels under contract through 2019, Lowry likely doesn't have chance of cracking the starting lineup anytime soon.
