Raiders' Nick O'Leary: Should be able to play next year
O'Leary, who underwent an angioplasty last month to reduce a 100 percent blockage of an artery in his heart, is expected to be able to return to football next year, Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post reports.
The tight end, who is expected to recover fully from the procedure, relayed Monday that he's feeling good and noted that it's the fact that he'll be on blood thinners for the next six months that will keep him off the football field this coming season. For now, O'Leary is on the Raiders' reserve/non-football injury list. The 27-year-old, who is known for his pass-blocking skills, recorded 13 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown over the course of 12 total games between the Dolphins and Jaguars in 2019.

Raiders' Nick O'Leary: Hits reserve/NFI list
The Raiders placed O'Leary on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list on Thursday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
O'Leary joined Las Vegas in March after having logged 13 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown between 12 total games with the Dolphins and Jaguars last season. Due to his placement on the reserve/NFI list, O'Leary won't count against the Raiders' 90-man offseason roster. The team re-signed tight end Paul Butler to fill O'Leary's depth gig.

Raiders' Nick O'Leary: Joins Las Vegas
O'Leary (shoulder) signed a contract with the Raiders on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 27-year-old missed the season finale with the shoulder injury and finished 2019 with 13 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown between 12 games with Jacksonville and Miami. O'Leary should battle for the No. 3 tight end job with Foster Moreau (knee) and Derek Carrier in training camp, since Darren Waller (thumb) and Jason Witten should be locked in atop the depth chart.

The veteran tight end notched the Jaguars' only touchdown of the day with a 12-yard scoring grab in the third quarter, his first time crossing the goal line this season. O'Leary now has a pair of four-catch tallies in his three games with Jacksonville, one apiece with Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew at the helm. O'Leary could be an interesting deep-league and DFS punt option in Week 15 versus a vulnerable Raiders defense.

O'Leary should continue to work as the Jaguars' top pass-catching tight end until DeValve returns, but any worthwhile fantasy production is liable to be touchdown dependent.

Jaguars' Nick O'Leary: Signs on with Jacksonville
O'Leary agreed to a contract with the Jaguars on Monday, the tight end's agency announced via its Twitter account.
O'Leary has been on the open market for the past three weeks after he was cut by the Dolphins in late October. Before getting waived, he nabbed only four passes for 37 yards across seven games, but he does have a 22-322-2 stat line -- which came in 15 games with the Bills in 2017 -- on his resume. At the very least, he'll provide Jacksonville with a healthy depth option at tight end after Seth DeValve (oblique) was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Colts and Josh Oliver (back) exited early. Ben Koyack was the last man standing at the position after the game, but he's more of a blocking specialist and is less skilled as a pass catcher than O'Leary.
