  • Phillip Dorsett: Done in Denver

Dorsett is slated to be released by the Broncos on Friday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Dorsett spend the 2023 season on Denver's practice squad, but he won't stick with the team as rookie minicamp gets fully underway. The first time he was active on game day was Week 1 against the Raiders, when he played six offensive snaps and didn't catch his lone target. Courtland Sutton (concussion) won't play Sunday, and how much work Dorsett is given could depend on whether Jerry Jeudy (illness) and/or Marvin Mims (hamstring) miss the game as well.

Dorsett caught three of a season-high six targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to Jacksonville in Week 17. Dorsett, who played 39 snaps, has benefitted from Nico Collins' season-ending foot injury and racked up 16 targets over the last five weeks while averaging 44 snaps. • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: One target in loss

Dorsett did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to Kansas City. • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Fails to produce with expanded role

Dorsett recorded two receptions on three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Cowboys. Dorsett was expected to see an expanded role in the absence of Brandin Cooks (groin) and Nico Collins (groin). However, he was out-produced by both Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers while delivering a disappointing performance of his own. Dorsett will fade to an even further peripheral role in the offense once one of Cooks or Collins is able to return, though he's proven unreliable even in their absences.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Added snaps on tap Sunday

Dorsett is in line to work as a starting outside wide receiver during Sunday's game against the Cowboys, as the Texans have ruled out both Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) for the contest, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound Dorsett and the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Chris Moore will presumably see most of the reps on the perimeter for Houston, while the lone other healthy receiver on the 53-man roster -- the 5-foot-9, 212-pound Amari Rodgers -- lacks the speed to play on the outside and is better suited for the slot role. Houston will likely add a receiver or two from the practice squad Saturday to restore some depth at the position, but Dorsett should be primed for a heavy snap count nonetheless. When Cooks and Collins were both sidelined back in Week 9 against the Eagles, Dorsett handled a season-high 77 percent snap share and finished with three catches for 69 yards on five targets.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Steps in for injured Cooks

Dorsett caught two of three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Browns. Dorsett saw a boost in playing time with Brandin Cooks (calf) sidelined, but Nico Collins (10 targets) was the main beneficiary. Houston's passing offense is near the bottom of the league, which makes it hard for fantasy managers to rely on any of the team's wideouts.
